Pejac - Yin-Yang, by Express Post on Jun 28, 2019 20:37:41 GMT 1, Such spirited discussion. But the burning question is, how much will these flip for? Please think of the flippers' children! Will they be able to go to Disneyworld to see Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge(and steal sporks to flip on ebay)? Or enough fuel for a trip to Poundland?

Pejac - Yin-Yang, by Jeezuz Jones Snr on Jun 28, 2019 22:20:58 GMT 1, How much will these flip for though? The price will be up there with meadow? Which is one of his best with seppuka. Seeing the cartoon of the same image by some one else has put me off this. Climate change or global warming pieces remind me of al gore also so Iโm definitely out ๐

Pejac - Yin-Yang, by gd79 on Jun 28, 2019 23:05:57 GMT 1, Image the eskimo was based on. Google "inuit ice fishing global warming cartoon" and you'll find many of the same..... Pejac is no Banksy, not yet anywayย - but all this overpriced hype is going to ruin him, bloating his ego, pride and greed before he could really originate... all IMHO... the first thing one must do.. is to google image your idea before releasing it as
I can't believe that the source for this is actually just typing "Eskimo fishing" into Google and going to images. It's the first damn image.

Pejac - Yin-Yang, by pada1 on Jun 29, 2019 1:06:34 GMT 1, Are comparing Art with random google images? I find this a bit childish. - Everyone is inspired by everything. Banksy the first one (a rat? Political ideas? Etc). - Pejacโs takes on the subject is done with skills and taste imo.
The diptych is probably not for everyone... because of the image, the price, the size, etc. This is natural. Any art is subject to debate and its format and message.

Pejac - Yin-Yang, by Gentle Mental on Jun 29, 2019 2:46:41 GMT 1, it's one thing to steal.. banksy and hirst steal all the time... but to steal a cliche is another thing.. and to steal it and barely adding anything new to it is yet another... and to spend 2.4k euros on a cliche and to hang it BIG on your wall for all to see and when asked how much was it, and how much was it to frame.. the cringe factor is a "nexgt level" another, a train wreck IMHO...whoever did this cartoon and all the other variations could and should sue...

Pejac - Yin-Yang, by Hairbland on Jun 29, 2019 12:48:02 GMT 1, I see Pejac's market declining, the OE is interesting as the edition is still relatively small at 300ish (If i remember correctly) and it came with a HF crate. One on here for less than cost really makes me think his market inflated quite quickly and is now settling back down. I think the prices are reasonable, sizes are great, but the image on this one really doesn't have me excited like i've been with Forest and even Scattercrow. I'm not sure this one will be a huge bun fight and from a personal point of view, I'd rather pay close to this for another single stronger print. OE was edition of 470- not so small but small in comparison to James Jean, etc. Either way, comparing the OE to Yin-Yang is comparing apples to oranges - as one is an envelope and the other happens to be 2 massive prints that require 6' of wall space.ย ย I think this thread diluted the image a bit with people throwing cartoons around, however I doubt my guests will be referencing a cartoon if I have the chance to purchase one. Additionally, let us not forget how many urban artists became uber successful off of cartoons Good luck people They are political cartoons, usually on the Editorial page, not cartoons. Drawn by talented people making the same point Pejac is making. Political cartoonists are usually on the front lines of reporting with their art, diffusing the horrible or absurd by infusing humor.
This particular image now a trope adopted by Pejac. Lazy.

Pejac - Yin-Yang, by coller on Jun 29, 2019 13:05:51 GMT 1, i feel like a lot of the criticisms here make no sense lol
price? completely appropriate. he is essentially charging 1200 euros per gigantic print, and i believe the last print release was 1000 euros
image? environmental-themed, like every other pejac print
used a google image of an inuit as the basis? don't really care that he did not personally venture into the tundra to find a different inuit and make him pose for an ice fishing pic
similar to a cartoon/meme about the environment and/or climate change? applies to almost every pejac print if you look hard enough
print size? seems like it will make people reevaluate buying this and throwing it in a closet for a decade, because it will take up a lot of space

Pejac - Yin-Yang, by Gentle Mental on Jun 30, 2019 6:42:32 GMT 1, Ah. I'm sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings. I was swept by hype and have overpaid on crap many times before. I genuinely thought, those hyped pieces were good for my walls. But with a clearer mind later - I wished I spent those thousands of euros on vacations or meals or a new laptop - than a big piece of paper that reminds me what a moron I've been... We, as a group of like minded collectors, like Trump supporters, tend to build isolated bubbles.
We should be more critical - on every release - especially on those charging skyrocket prices - so we don't end up with flat files full of Nick Walkers, Brainwash etc etc... (and maybe artists could be more on their toes with their releases)...
If you have 2400 euros to spare - and you really love this - go for it.
But do go in as informed as you can - know what the different POVs are - and not just the one-sided hyped ones.

Pejac - Yin-Yang, by Express Post on Jun 30, 2019 14:07:49 GMT 1, Josh Keyes was yuuuuuge back in the day. It was commentary on the environment too. Now he is still a nobody on global level for supercollectors, global galleries or national museums. Only massive with nobody collectors. Same with Kevin Peterson. Pejac has a huge following of nobody collecters too.

Pejac - Yin-Yang, by coller on Jun 30, 2019 14:09:58 GMT 1, Pejac is infinitely more talented than Josh Keyes, in my opinion.
I agree that this forum creates tons of hype bubbles. I do not think Pejac is a hype artist. I view him as the real deal when it comes to street art.
His indoor/print works could use some improvement, similar to JR, but both are still incredible artists to me.

Time will tell as to Pejacโs imprint on the art scene. However, this image, smaller on cheaper paper would do well at places that sell posters for dorm rooms.

Pejac - Yin-Yang, by urbanny on Jun 30, 2019 14:30:59 GMT 1, Ah.
You clearly only enjoy art if it "goes up". You clearly don't value your time with over 2,000 posts on this pathetic site. If you had spent the money on a holiday, you have spent the time trolling on here.
Who cares what other people's "POV" are?
But if people do GC. Here's mine. You are a greedy, ignorant, jealous (probably fat), loser. And I feel sorry for your friends and sadder still, your family. You are pefect for this forum from what I've seen so far.
I discovered Pejac (through a gallery) only very recently. I really enjoy his pieces but also have never quite seen such animosity towards an artist. Mostly petty jealousy. But still.
