Lol. Ironic! So, this is not real? I am really asking. Been looking at it for a while now trying to figure it out. Obviously, I am no expert lol.

Banksy's on eBay • Real or Fake?, by Tacobell on Aug 15, 2019 23:19:21 GMT 1, I'm not an expert, but several things don't look quite right. The signature color appears more of a dark blueish color vs. green blueish on verified editions. Also, the signature looks way too clean, like the "a" and the "y". I don't see a number and/or seal. Again, this is just an observation.

Banksy's on eBay • Real or Fake?, by Poster Bob on Aug 16, 2019 11:04:23 GMT 1, At the very least, not a person you want to deal with. After agreeing a sale with someone the seller continued to solicit bids from the usual suspects and agreed sales with several different people. She refused to prove ownership via PC but was willing to provide proof of possession.
This is a big issue now with Ebay sales. If someone will not CC you in on the email to Pest Control, run.
The Monkey Queen sold this week appears fake. I won't say why, but to those in the know it is very, very obvious.

Banksy's on eBay • Real or Fake?, by Poster Bob on Aug 16, 2019 15:15:13 GMT 1, I normally just sort the completed auctions by highest price to see what something sold for. The seller did send out convincing pictures, but wouldn't contact Pest Control to confirm ownership. If you see a red flag, walk away.

Banksy's on eBay • Real or Fake?, by met on Aug 16, 2019 16:31:21 GMT 1,
No, that was a counterfeit Banksy print.
I'm comfortable to publicly state the eBay seller (possibly based in Bath, UK and very likely a member of this forum), famileebusiness, is a fraudster:
feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=famileebusiness
__________
It's worth noting the fake POW Heavy Weaponry blindstamp, which is convincing and capable of fooling many people.
The eBay listing was also peppered with enough facts to appear genuine, especially to less experienced Banksy enthusiasts who truly want to believe that an item priced far below market value is real.
But there were plenty of red flags as well. While I won't mention too many, typos in the doctored Bonhams provenance documentation were a giveaway.
And when a seller says they'll ship expensive artwork after they return from holiday two weeks later, that's generally a bad sign. It can often mean the following:
"I need lots of time to empty my PayPal account and make off with your money before you realise you've been conned. And no, I'm not able to meet you in person for a cash-on-collection deal."
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/183910874578
__________
For those who share my interest in amateur sleuthing, here are a few comparison shots with the authentic Stop and Search print that sold at Bonhams, Bond Street, London on 24 February 2009:
www.bonhams.com/auctions/16748/lot/45/

The seller does have a lot of circumstantial evidence, such as auction labels etc. Which would be difficult to fake.
Would you think it is possible he is the owner of the Original and is selling a fake with his labels ?

Banksy's on eBay • Real or Fake?, by spaceshrew on Aug 16, 2019 18:38:26 GMT 1, I would just like to add, my 'stop and search' (71/500) was stolen from my house some years ago, the break in organised by a forum member.
I'm convinced he had the paperwork and sales invoices for his own stop and search, and duplicated them with my print, to sell on, changing the number to match his.
You know who you are.

Was the person charged in a criminal court? Bit strong throwing around accusations on speculation? someone else will probably dig up an old thread and name the accused . When something like this happens all thoughts happen and paranoia sets in. Restraint and rational thought process needed on hard bound proven facts otherwise turns into victimisation and bullying on the forum. If the above have been established then name .
