Banksy Basquiat Print, Gross Domestic Product™, by quixote on Apr 25, 2020 4:39:52 GMT 1, Very very hard piece to find and buy. They are a reputable gallery. Print will keep going up... after all it is Banksy and it's a new print! Highly desirable. price went down to $75k www.artsy.net/artwork/banksy-banksquiatand one more popped up in another gallery pretty easy to find if you ask me
it says “sold” don’t know for how much but I guess around the $75000 mark. What’s funny is that 2-5 years from now we’ll look back at this post and say “ugh should have bought it back then for this price” because we all know NOT ONE Banksy print of any kind has EVER decreased in price as years pass. I had a girl with balloon unsigned and sold it for $50000 and people on this forum said I was way too expensive and unsigned prints at that kind of money are crazy... well now look.

I have thought about it (as there are multiple for sale cheaper than that) and after talking with my lawyer I decided it is not worth it. Imagine the following in two years time: - the seller is not responsive - the seller move/change email/dies - the seller hold the coa and decides he wants $30k more for it - PC finds out and decides not to issue one
Etc...
Sure you can sue but Simply not worth it
Furthermore, failing the Mischel’s experiment is correlated with so many bad traits ;-)

That would be a nightmare. What do folks figure the value of a print is with no COA? 10% of its full value?

Very very hard to find and buy one. I also expect future prices will be much, much more.
One of his best images ever!

There isn’t such a thing as these coming to market at a discount anymore though. I’m sure this will sit around the signed Nola / choose your weapon price bracket off the bat
I’d love one if anyone is willing to part with it in 2 years time?

Banksy Basquiat Print, Gross Domestic Product™, by Unica on Apr 25, 2020 15:56:24 GMT 1, hmm I'd pay alot less if it doesn't have COA, as I would any other Banksy print. What if I had to sell in a pinch, I'd be hammered by buyers. I'm looking to buy so if you have one and realistic let me know.

Here’s what they said: “It’s safe to leave in the package sealed for a few months no problem. We just prefer they don’t sit there for years. Ensure they’re not stored anywhere damp or in extreme temperatures.

Forum members all previously told me it would be ok in the original packaging for years. Whether this message is a tacktick from source to make sure the pieces arent just being stored for resale at a later date im not sure, but its good to hear from them regardless. Once lockdown is over - to the framer it shall go.

Guy Hepner gallery has two and want 62k each and quoting 90k in two years
Comparing to sales ends v2 when winners first got them they were 14-17k , thought initial sales compared to that would be 25-30k then slowly rising , there are a few around for sale

Not comparing artistic merit, just how both released in a similar way , incomparable to other prints but In comparing to the releases made a price adjustment as of the edition size .

Dunno like - its alright - its not one of his best. So many other prints I would have ahead of it - including Sale Ends. Whats so good about it? I'm quite the opposite. I have a tougher time with sale ends because of the religious imagery but both images play on similar commercialization themes. All up to the viewer but I see Banksy speaking for himself and the great artists of today and tomorrow depicted as those buying tickets to the carnival looking up to the greats that proceeded them who did the same. Wondering how something so pure from their perspective, all the careful consideration pouring their hearts, minds and soul into their work during their lifetime often becomes bastardized and silly from their vantage point by the wider world around them? All while linking his work to Basquiat while the ferris wheel/art world spins round in circles and taking a veiled slap at the unsanctioned shows increasing in popularity out of his control. For me, better imagery, a deeper statement with wider symbolism than sale ends.

There’s several things that make this print right out of the gates high value & high seeking demand
#1 link to Basquiat #2 the story behind this print *** the stories behind art increase demand & value *** Basquiat story but also the whole unique story of GDP... trademark case, selling to the public first time ever & maybe only time & the way it was done; fake b&m popup & application process judge by a comedian lol... there’s a lot of unique character & appeal to that # 3 the image is great looking & meaning behind it... maybe not top but sure up there on Banksy work

Anyone still waiting on their print or any order from GDP/Banksy?
*** I JUST received my Black Print!!! =O It was sitting in the shipping warehouse for 2 months!!!
No one ever contacted me I emailed GDP few times throughout this wait with no response neither
After some investigation & perhaps social engineering... I found it & got it sent to me right away
If anyone else still waiting, Message me & I’ll let you know what steps I did to successfully recover my piece
I can post publicly too if that helps more

Banksy Basquiat Print, Gross Domestic Product™, by acaipride on May 2, 2020 10:39:48 GMT 1, I'm honestly torn on this piece too. One day I think its his best and another day I dont. I wonder if its the shiney newness of the piece that is driving its desirability. There’s several things that make this print right out of the gates high value & high seeking demand #1 link to Basquiat #2 the story behind this print *** the stories behind art increase demand & value *** Basquiat story but also the whole unique story of GDP... trademark case, selling to the public first time ever & maybe only time & the way it was done; fake b&m popup & application process judge by a comedian lol... there’s a lot of unique character & appeal to that # 3 the image is great looking & meaning behind it... maybe not top but sure up there on Banksy work
the piece is great, both colorways. people are way too focused on expressing its value and demand. Only time will tell, enjoy the view for what it is, a banksy.

Banksy Basquiat Print, Gross Domestic Product™, by Unica on May 2, 2020 11:40:20 GMT 1, hmm I'd pay alot less if it doesn't have COA, as I would any other Banksy print. What if I had to sell in a pinch, I'd be hammered by buyers. I'm looking to buy so if you have one and realistic let me know. man, i tell you, that's a tough buy and a tough sell. both parties have benefit of the doubt ordeal Yes, a lot can happen in two years, tough buy, what happens if the seller disappears, dies, changes their mind, disputes the sale etc The buyer will have to approach PC on their own and that might take a while, its a great print and I'd love to have one but not a very liquid Banksy. I still want one though.

Get everything in writing and make sure its in the sellers name not the wife/husband or better still get both to sign it over as if one passed on at least you have both signatures.
Make sure the COA is part of the sale (get this clearly stated in the contract)
You can't be too careful nowadays.

The coa generally used for authenticity, these sold now with original packaging and the way they are made on board would not be able to reproduce/ replicate so less chance of being fake , tied in with payment method copy , I think safer than buying the sales end v2 before the coa came

Forgers can replicate anything.
have been Reported here in the past where a fake print has been sold with genuine coa and in the open marketS , so yes it does add value but not full proof on proving genuine, more so helpful with proving ownership and not stolen ,In these cases with how the print Was released just establishes the ownership .all these will have Other provenance , full receipts and postage documents which many OldEr print releases on the open market Will not have but only a coa . When bbay is set up and running might find a few prints not being returned 😉 Plenty of these still out there
