Banksy Basquiat Print, Gross Domestic Product™, by dueuomo on May 2, 2020 19:37:11 GMT 1, Got to be mad to risk it though. The coa generally used for authenticity, these sold now with original packaging and the way they are made on board would not be able to reproduce/ replicate so less chance of being fake , tied in with payment method copy , I think safer than buying the sales end v2 before the coa came everybody believes the authenticity, the issue with the banksquiat is
liquidity: if you need to sell it in less than two years time you are stuck, because who would buy from a seller, who himself had an agreement with another seller to release COA in due time...it is a nightmare.
in addition to hold up with the original seller.

If the seller decided to be an ass , as long as you have a contract with the original seller and have All original receipts And receipts When purchased from the original winner , you could just apply to pest control for a new coa ,the chain if sold on follows through

But on gdp it clearly states that the coa goes to the original lottery buyer If it were as you describe it, there was no point in a two year lag for the coa, that would be useless against flippers.

Look at how many sales ends v2s Were sold pre coa and no horror stories yet to surface , the prices the sales ends sold pre coa and after Coa issues , the difference in price was what all signed prints went up by in a two year period , Consumers causing hype and marketing Plays a part

Very reputable. I was told him about by a friends who works in a modern art museum. And talking with him definitely made me trust him. And when I saw how he manipulated everything... even more!

Banksy Basquiat Print, Gross Domestic Product™, by eschiff on May 8, 2020 11:27:17 GMT 1, I was able to source one of these in the last week - certainly some risk but had a solicitor draw up a contractual agreement around the COA signed by both parties which gives some peace of mind.
Wish I had won it for 500 but pretty happy to add it to the collection. Funny reading through posts on here about valuation, it's kind of like reading through posts 10 years ago about what people paid for x,y, z print at the time. Basically people just throwing out numbers. As a few have said, the value is what a buyer (or me haha) will pay and what a seller will accept. Until this print comes up at auction, a lot of it will just be speculation.
The comparison to Sale Ends v2 is interesting, but at least for me, not an image I would want on my wall and being the second version to be released of a print dings its appeal to collectors. I don't think all of the sudden Basquiat collectors are going to be out-bidding each other for this print and I think eventually it sits at the Choose Your Weapon level but who knows.

I’d be interested in sourcing one of these but curious what sort of assurances and penalties you got in your contract to make you feel comfortable.

I’d be interested in sourcing one of these but curious what sort of assurances and penalties you got in your contract to make you feel comfortable. A lot of the stipulations are tied to the COA, when it's applied for and when it's delivered. Some of the purchase price went into escrow to be released when the seller applies for the COA. The contract applies to successors, heirs and asigns as well as unfortunately we do live in a time where anything can happen.
It's explicitly stated that I'm purchasing a COA and a print (and original packaging fwiw) rather than just purchasing a print.
Is it fail safe? Who knows. But I feel comfortable with it - enough to complete the transaction.

Unfortunately, the sellers of the few available prints I've found don't seem too receptive to the idea.
My big concerns are 1) a seller watching the market, realizing two years from now that the print has skyrocketed in value, and trying to use the COA as leverage to just refund your money and cancel the whole deal and 2) a seller dying.

Yeah, it's why going through a gallery, while I'm sure more expensive, was a bit easier.
As well, it's why the clause about successors, heirs and asigns is in there.

Banksy Basquiat Print, Gross Domestic Product™, by shy on May 8, 2020 19:29:24 GMT 1, Seems like a risky gamble.
And what happens if the Gallery goes out of business?
The print without the Pest Control COA would be a problem.
