Banksy Basquiat Print, Gross Domestic Product™, by Dive Jedi on Aug 19, 2020 22:12:17 GMT 1, Left this thread when £40k was estimated price..came back 2 weeks later and £85k with no COA is considered a good price..?? Too much hyping going on is not good for the market long term. There's only 1 member with about 30 posts that suggest extremely high prices. Getting a bit sad really. And rather obvious.
Tate Ward will set a level soon. Or not....

Banksy Basquiat Print, Gross Domestic Product™, by reg on Aug 19, 2020 22:30:15 GMT 1, Has anybody actually ever done the homework on whether auction prices correlate with edition size, print colours and size?
Some images are more iconic than others for sure (girl with balloon) and others (LIITA) are multi prints in one so are special cases but I can't help think this one is mainly inflated because of its newness.
For me there's little remarkable about the colouring, nor the size. The edition is as per. Provenance is cloudy until Bbay is resolved so I'm genuinely interested as to why this print is generating crazy price speculation?

Banksy Basquiat Print, Gross Domestic Product™, by reg on Aug 21, 2020 17:22:58 GMT 1, Said it before and happy to say it again... There's something about the 'no COA for two years' thing and I really do suspect there'll be a sting in the tail on these prints.
That may be COA only via resale on Bbay and not for other secondary markets, or not. Who knows.
Either way, dropping £50k on the promise of authenticity (especially as an investment with a future value) is one heck of a gamble.

Indeedy. There's almost 50 Banksy prints comings up for auction in the next month, a lot of people are cashing in and a lot speculating that prices are still cheap. But this is new territory, post GDP and for me a little too uncertain.

Was there any sting for the v2s sold before coa issued?

I would think if provenance well documented the lack of a COA not a big deal. It’s not like it’s Joe from down the block selling on here or EBay.

Yeah critics always were crying and prices always kept rising because there is no analog artist to Banksy in 21st century
