Banksy Basquiat Print, Gross Domestic Product™, by Dexter Bulldog on Aug 1, 2021 13:48:21 GMT 1, There are 2 editions of 300 one black the other grey plus an unknown quantity of hand finished examples. They were released via the lottery and then to VIPs. The VIPs were sold at £22k to £31k in two separate waves. The majority were sold to VIPs. The 3 that sold without COA ones ranged from £110 - 125k. Privately they were changing hands at £110 - 135k although I have not seen one for about 3 months. There will undoubtedly be a flow on to the market when the COAs do land but my view is that anywhere under £125k will be seen, ultimately, as good value. £150k is very ambitious in the current climate. If the last stop and search hammered at £51k two weeks ago, one wouldn’t think these are currently( coa’s are not that far off) £125k. Print prices have corrected 20 to 50 percent depending on the image.

Banksy Basquiat Print, Gross Domestic Product™, by JFCC on Aug 2, 2021 9:48:35 GMT 1, It is always dangerous to take one print in isolation as a market comparator. Even earlier in the year Stop and Search was achieving well over £100k with fees. Further using hammer price is not relevant as nobody can buy for hammer price. So the actual purchase price was £68k in that one isolated example. Stop and Search is like a number of other prints that have been noticeably over sold through auctions in the last 12 months.
A more relevant observation is the market has corrected due to supply and is currently trading at about September prices. That is 20-30% down from its peak.
Banksquait prints sold without a COA so I would probably suggest the values achieved were at least 20-30% down on what they could have been. Hence my view anywhere around £125k will be seen ultimately as fair value. The purchaser of Stop and Search has, subject to condition, got an absolute bargain.

Banksy Basquiat Print, Gross Domestic Product™, by mint on Aug 2, 2021 14:45:48 GMT 1, Funny how people talk on here as if they're experts on valuation. Truth is no one has a clue really. false…. it’s called precedent…. things sold at a price range, with outliers of high/low pricing, average out that lot, there’s ur market valuation…. 2 say “no one has a clue” is just false…. if u said no one has a clue what SS will sell 4 in 2022 then your correct….
Just have 2 say... It’s hard to take anything you say seriously when you type like a 12 year old.

Not sure that’s again a representative time frame, personally I’d look at rolling 6 - 12 month trends rather than one isolated point in time. But prices are less than their peak and again to re-emphasis the point they are at about the same level as sept 2020. Current pricing is still substantially ahead of sept 2019 or July 2020 and so as with any asset or product you can map an expected price performance over time. Typically Banksy has grown by a comfortable 20% PA. long term that will return and continue.
Time will tell if Banksquaits sell at £50k or £150k, but history suggests that it is very unlikely in the long run the prices will be in a terminal decline. As a retail price, my view remains the same, £125k is not unreasonable, some will sell for less and some for more, it will depend whether a customer/collector wants one that badly!!

Tries to reason with art that isn't theirs but will ask $2000 for a $100 drawing purchased earlier in the year. Then like a petulant child they will block you for calling them out. Really sums them up.

That’s a super hard question!! As at least 25 or so have sold since the start of 2020 it’s had a terrific run but is oversold. So in reality are there that many collectors willing to pay £200-225k for it today, no, so the market has it at £130-150k, which is a bargain. So if you had £125-150k that would be the buy all day long!!
Would a Banksquait get close to a u/s GWB in auction today, then I think due to its current scarcity, maybe!!
As for a swap, no chance!!
Just my view, hard hat firmly on my head!!

Banksy Basquiat Print, Gross Domestic Product™, by whispy on Aug 19, 2021 15:35:08 GMT 1, Hi all, I was lucky enough to win a Grey Banksquiat in the GDP Lottery. As much as I love this print I have come to the decision to part ways with it so that someone else can enjoy it, that's what it was made for after all! The Print is still in the original GDP packaging and I also have emails from GDP as provenance. The Pest Control COA will be sent out to the buyer as soon as I receive it. I am looking for £100k for this Print, I will try to respond to all of your questions as quickly as I can. I am based in the South East of the UK. As I said before, I do love this Print, but I would much rather someone have this and put it up on display and get enjoyment from it every day, and the money would make a great difference to me and my Family. Let me know if you have any questions!

With that said, did they approve your request for the COA and do you have in writing that it was approved? That will increase the value even more imho.

This is actually incorrect, I’ve been in touch with Pest Control last week to notify them I have moved house & that the COA for my GDP MetBall would require sending to my new address. I assumed, as you did, this would be an automatic process as that’s what the initial GDP setup insinuated but PC confirmed that you do in fact have to apply for your COA on or after the 2 year anniversary since purchase.
Mine is November this year, how quick they come thereafter is obviously anyone’s guess…
