I definately have tickets to art miami. I might be able to give my scope one but trickier because it s my personal one so have to figure it out.

Art Basel • Miami, Hong Kong, Paris, by lucky7 on Nov 29, 2017 14:37:21 GMT 1, Hi, I’ll be heading to Miami in a few weeks for Basel. It’s my first time attending and was hoping for insight from others who’ve been. Any shows in particular I should check out? Do I need to purchase tickets in advance or can I buy at the door? Or, anything else you might think helpful. Thanks.
It is a lot of fun. There are dozens of fairs besides miami basel. Two years ago I Saw sylvester stallone and and lenny kravitz meeting and hugging, that’s the kind of thing you see there.
Besides Basel, the tent fairs on the beach on miami beach are very fun and more uaa oriented but basel is the main beast, and should not be missed, general knowledge. You can buy tickets there but they are cheaper online.
I found this very useful site with info. You must check it out

Art Basel • Miami, Hong Kong, Paris, by beenrhymin on Nov 29, 2017 20:15:06 GMT 1, Hey all, was reading various threads and found it interesting that year after year people here are so knowledgable about the artist and artworks yet not the market or fairs! Anyway, thank god for that since that is what truly matters...
Having said that, i am exhibiting at Art Miami, one of the two "main" fairs. Happy to provide passes for those that wish as long as it doesn't get too out of hand. Just PM me Also those passes will reciprocate almost everywhere if you ask nicely *except the main ART BASEL FAIR.
Quick Breakdown: Huge Fairs: Art Miami - is the older fair, geared toward mostly secondary market material, located near the AA arena.
Art Basel - The main fair and where the week gets it's name from, located at the convention center.
Smaller fairs: Context- an offshoot of Art Miami for more unknown or emerging contemporary
Untitled Art fair - Similar to NADA, smaller fair, 12th and ocean
Pulse - Solid reputation for up and coming artists at well respected galleries. 46th and collins
Scope - probably favored by the forum, good amount of urban, I like it but many don't, located on the beach!
NADA - The new Art Dealers Alliance, great fair always a good ground to look for breakout artsits well respected. Located at ICE Palace studios, not far from Art miami.
Design Miami- offshoot of Art BAsel- usually very cool things to see!
INK - Print fair 19th and collins! Mostly publishers in a hotel setting.
Aqua - ehhh... only if youve done everything else
Pinta - Latin American wynwood.
Red Dot- avoid at all costs
Lastly but most importantly, don't forget wynwood walls! only reason i didn't go into detail above is that its been well covered on the forum for years....

Only reason i created a thread is year after year ill post a reply in one like this but it gets kinda lost in the mix and end up either answering others multiple times or giving up because im preparing to exhibit myself.

Really looking forward to checking out all the smaller fairs. Hopefully it won't be difficult getting around to all the fairs. might just use lyft or public transit the whole time.
Is the juxtapoz clubhouse worth checking out?

I saw him a few times at Sotheby's in NY. (he also ripped me a new one once bidding against me)

Art Basel • Miami, Hong Kong, Paris, by mmmike on Nov 4, 2018 19:00:19 GMT 1, Does anyone know how easy or hard it is to get VIP status for the smaller fairs? I know Basel is serious. I certainly shouldn't qualify as a VIP anywhere but thinking about making a cheeky application for Art Miami or one of the others. If I list artist I collect in print form and galleries I've bought prints from it isn't a terrible list. I'm pretty sure that is not what they are thinking though. They also ask for museum affiliations, do memberships count?

Are you looking for a permanent VIP Status so that you automatically get what you need every year or VIP status for the 2019 art fair editions? In the end my experience is that this is all driven by galleries and that's easier than apply for the status via the art fair directly (such as Scope).
If you know a Gallery exhibiting in a certain fair get in touch with them and ask if they can help with a VIP ticket. Most of the time they have plenty available (especially for the smaller fairs). If you don't have a relationship with galleries exhibiting there I'd check for one with a roster of artists I am interested in and just send them a mail and ask if they see the possibility to allow you to visit the VIP preview as a potential buyer. Obtaining a permanent VIP Status probably needs an intense business relationship with a Gallery or you are some kind of celebrity / social influencer what might be useful for the art fair if you come visit

Most of the things to do are in clustered areas, and have free shuttles as well.

And if possible, try to get dropped off a couple blocks away to avoid having to rush out of your rideshare, and possibly accumulating another 10-20% in fees due to stalled traffic. These areas get busy!
As for VIP entrance, reach out to any galleries that you've collected from who are displaying. Most of them will have an extra pass or 2, and they love meeting their clients face to face.
As for things to see: I'd definitely dedicate a single day just to Wynwood. So much to see there and there are always amazing pop ups and events happening.
Have fun!
