How much did the fact that itโs technically โunlimitedโ factor into your decision to buy or not to buy? The way I see it is that I love the piece and the story behind it, and even if itโs an edition of 5000 itโs probably one of the only authorized Banksy pieces Iโll own. With almost 200k applications for the rest of the goods (and 10 days to go) chances are pretty slim that Iโll get picked. I wonder how many of those 200k applicants would have purchased the mat if it had been an edition of 1000? Just thinking aloud.
It was a donation. Usually I do not get anything back when donating. Owning a Banksy item in return is an incredible bonus. This was a no brainer. I wanted to donate anyway after looking at Banksys stuff for weeks. Do we really have to discuss if this item is "worth it"? Holy ...

Probably better we donโt know so fakes donโt make the market before the real ones do.

Mine's still showing pending.
My guess is nothing is shipping, including these mats, until the lottery closes.
From the item description on Love Welcomes:
Each mat is produced by hand and they are not ready to ship straight away. Once you have placed your order, you will be kept updated regarding delivery times.

That said if you paid with an Amex, Amex tends to release their holds within a day or two. That doesn't mean your order is cancelled. It's just an Amex policy to not clog up your available credit for too long.

I didn't think we'd move on to what the design of the tag looks like this quickly (I can't wait to see it though obvs). Soon it'll be the quality of the packaging, the nap and weave of the mat, followed by slight variations in the appearance of the word "Welcome" and ultimately more discussion on the next batch being made. It's made by the same craftswomen, helping the same people, and made incorporating the same materials (life vests, etc). And it even says in their description, you can use it as a wall hanging.

Well, it's an art forum. At some point the discussion will turn to discussion of the art.
Love Welcomes made it a point to say "we have not released the design of the label yet" which suggests there will be a design and if there is a design it's quite possible, because it's Banksy that it's super. :-).
It's been 3 days since that language has been sitting there and it's only now finally coming up. Like I said, I'm heartened by this considering this forum. ;-) Most of what people posted prior to this was discussing the cause and feeling good about the donation.
