Banksy Welcome Mat, by telecine on Nov 3, 2020 7:14:47 GMT 1, why are the mat fanboys so moronic, not hard to understand why some people would prefer an actual print with a rat or flower thrower, you don't need to defend the freaking mats, don't be so insecure It's not an actual print. It's a free giveaway that will never be proven or authenticated intentionally.
They ARE screenprints on thin paper. Given away....yes.
They also actually look great and are well worth tracking down .
Ah, these ne’er do wells .......

Banksy Welcome Mat, by rosac on Nov 3, 2020 7:32:12 GMT 1, Mats are endless, flowers are in a different league. A rat is a fair deal at present. Quote me on this in a year.
When has anything banksy ever been endless... they simply won’t be produced for ever.

Banksy Welcome Mat, by GMA on Nov 3, 2020 9:53:09 GMT 1, I love how there's this perception the GDP Rat/Flower/Crisis prints are just going to disintegrate into nothing, you'll look at it before bed, give it a kiss goodnight and wake up in the morning to see an empty frame with a mound of dust sat at the bottom, funny thing is, even if that did happen, someone would buy it. "It was planned that way, it's how he always wanted it to be, it's become a new piece of art"

Banksy Welcome Mat, by Beanlaser on Nov 4, 2020 0:50:04 GMT 1, Looking to sell my Banksy Welcome Mat. As much as I'd love to keep it I moved to NZ at the start of the year and I need some money!
It arrived with family back in the UK after I left so unfortunately I haven't even seen it in the flesh.
Looking to sell it within the UK and my family will post it to the buyer for me.
It's from the first release with a stitched on tag and numbered in the low 200's. Please send any offers my way to consider. If I don't receive any serious offers I'll be putting it on eBay in a couple of weeks.
I can add photos to this thread if there's interest.
Thanks.

Banksy Welcome Mat, by urbanny on Nov 8, 2020 17:55:41 GMT 1, Looking to sell my first batch Banksy mat. All the usual provenance.
It's numbered in the mid 200s and is in the condition it was received. So, mint as they come!
Value seems to be very different depending on the poster but let's say offers over £3k would be seriously considered.
Thanks

Banksy Welcome Mat, by Pawel on Nov 9, 2020 14:25:19 GMT 1, I very much doubt it. "If the stop making these" is a big 'if'. Some people don't consider them to be art. Some people don't agree with the message. On top of that, fakes would be a major problem.
I can see their value increased in the future (unless they are still being made in 2030), but nothing near the prints.

Look at the % increase of the unlimited "beer coaster" Peckham rocks :face-palm:
IMO- These still have plenty of room. Once they stop producing (which I don't think will be any time soon, the demand will go up more than it is now).
I waited and we got lucky in the lotto. Very happy to support directly and I think you all should hold out to buy direct, or buy on eBay once we're 1000% sure they're not producing anymore.

Definitely there's still room for the price to go up, if they stop producing them any time soon. I believe that conceptually this is one of the best Banksy releases. Message, material used and people making them, it's all brilliant. I believe Banksy market is so used to his works being accompanied by PC COA, that it automatically makes the mats second grade Banksy. Nobody will pay tens of thousands for these.

Banksy Welcome Mat, by Deleted on Nov 10, 2020 6:45:37 GMT 1, Very unlikely. When production eventually stops, it's probable there will be several thousand of them out there, which would make them easily the largest Banksy release. They're not easy to display in a way that looks good. Aesthetically, they're not to everyone's taste. For them to reach print prices they'd have to be as desirable as prints. That's never going to be the case.
I think it's a great piece, with a powerful message and a clever concept. But I don't think that will translate to huge value.

1000 get access emails to buy the welcome mat (which I think are not necessarily a full lottery, kinda going down the list) and basically its available until 500 mats get sold, and with a limit of 2 per purchase, as little as 250 may end up placing orders. Then the slowpokes and losers get readded to the end of the line again.

I think most framers have stitched the mat to the board.
I fixed mine to a board using heavy duty Velcro. (Velcro pinned to the mat using dress pins so it’s reversible without damage)

I’m still waiting for mine to get back to me from MFM but I will check with him how he affixed it.
