People keep saying this, but even if someone buys on the secondary they have already benefited from the original sale. I highly doubt they are going to make so many of these that they could supply one to every person on the waiting list, plus the additional numbers adding daily.

People with two probably bought direct from the Gdp link and then added their names to the list after that. They’re a small outfit who weren’t prepared for Banksy effect so I’d imagine the intricacies of web warfare may have been lost of them. Irks me that I’ve been offered mats as part of potential trades but there you go. Cash flows direct to source on these or it doesn’t flow at all (IMO).

Well I was waiting since the beginning and kept checking an email address and it would always say already registered. Then once it's back up I had to re-register it 🤷

I can't think of a way that PC could issue COA's even if they wanted to and even if it was only for the 1st round of mats. Too many have switched hands and tracing/confirming provenance and ownership would be an absolute nightmare.

Agreed and given the lead times for issuing COAs for prints and original editions I'd strongly suggest they simply don't have the time.

Maybe I worded that incorrectly as I myself own a mat and I am not rich. At the same time we must be in quite a good position to drop £500 on a door mat. We see it as a piece of art but it is much more than that to others. I personally see this as one of Banksys best messages. Art that does exactly what it says on the tin. At least you don’t have to stand there rubbing your chin in a poncy gallery to get what it means.
