I did one for a friend in a similar, albeit simpler, fashion by fixing a wooden baton across the width of the rear of the mat by screwing in from the front then tufting the matt a little to cover the screw heads. |

That and the fact they have not released any for well over a year now. Even during the pandemic there was a fairly steady drip feed of them.

You should not have any issues shipping this as there is nothing delicate that can break. As long as you insure and use a 'signed for' service, you should be fine.
