I hope they keep producing these for years to come and alternating the people who produce them as a way to get funding for the charity and to serve as a stepping stone into other employment. But I absolutely agree with you that ideally they will not be produced for long because greater action will be taken to address the problem and the charity will no longer be needed.

With almost 200k applications for the rest of the goods (and 10 days to go) chances are pretty slim that Iโll get picked. I wonder how many of those 200k applicants would have purchased the mat if it had been an edition of 1000?

ยฃ500 isn't a small amount of money (I know it is to some people), but like you say, how many authorised Banksy works can you actually buy? The only others I can think of are the WOH pieces and the meaning of this one hits me more (I mean no disrespect by that; I'm just not as educated about the situation in Palestine).
I don't see me getting rid of this, so increase in value isn't particularly a factor. Having seen the GDP show, it feels quite special to have one of the major pieces from it. Don't really care if loads of other people have the same piece, especially if that means more money for the charity.

Ultimately though, I have only owned one B print ever and displayed it proudly it for 10 years before I had to sell it to buy a house. To have the opportunity to get another official (but unofficial I guess because no COA) authorized work to replace it was important to me. That final window with the vests that most people seemed to ignore really hit home with me in the context of the exhibit which was what really pushed me over the edge to hit the buy button, it was for a good cause and that window really reached me in a way most other art has not. Also, I hope they sell more mats to raise more money for the charity. The purchase wiped out the remainder of my charity budget for the year plus bled into the Christmas budget but I'll be able to finally replace the print I sold...and to display it in my NEW home is the icing on the cake.
