I done a day trip to London and went to the Bacon exhibition and the Surrealism without Borders exhibition. Amazing experience seeing both. I had done a lot of reading on Bacon over the last year and was unreal to see the pieces I had read so much about. Technically some of the works at the Surrealism exhibition were mind blowing but the journals, pamphlets and books that were released when the movement was in full swing was great too see. They are every bit as important as the works on the walls. A lot like the zines etc. over the last few decades.

I haven't seen the Bacon yet, I'm a vegetarian, but yes the surrealism exhibition was very good. I really liked the very long collaborative drawings on folded paper thingy that took years to make before it was unfolded and seen in full. |
