TATS CRU "Here And Now" at the POP GALLERY, by Art Groupie NYC on Dec 10, 2019 23:17:09 GMT 1, The gallery I work with is opening an exhibition this week on 12/12 that I have been waiting on all year! Artists highlighted are John “CRASH” Matos, Chris “DAZE” Ellis, Nicer, Bio, BG183, Nick Walker, and Eric Orr, and Fernando Romero.
The collection just arrived, and you are welcome to stop by to check out works prior if you are in NYC. Details from the press release are below, and I’ve included a link to the preview catalogue. I didn’t make it in time for the Secret Santa list this year, but I personally have lots of pieces from this show on my wishlist.
If you would like to attend the reception, or have inquiries about the work, you can contact me at lulu@popinternational.com
WHERE: Pop International Galleries at 195 Bowery, New York, NY 10002
WHEN: December 12, 2019 from 7-9pm (showing through January 12th)
CURATED BY: Fernando “Ski” Romero
ARTISTS: CRASH | DAZE | Nicer | Bio | BG183 | Nick Walker | Eric Orr
WHAT: This is not your average art show. This is a very special event that pays homage to the longest running “Graffiti Crew” from The Bronx, NY.
Tats Cru, aka “The Mural Kings”, started making their mark some four decades ago –– way before many understood the true impact they would have on Urban Culture. In so many ways, this team of artists would redefine what it meant to be a part of life in New York City. While “Here and Now” honors CRASH and Tats Cru for laying the groundwork for so many other aspiring artists, and helping establish Graffiti for the true art form that it is, alongside these giants, Fernando also acknowledges in this event, DAZE, Nick Walker, and Eric Orr, who have all inspired one another through the years, and continue working together to this day. “Here and Now” will have on display a comprehensive collection of over 20 artworks curated by Fernando Romero, which tells the story of these artists’ astonishing and compelling journey.
