Banksy GDP staff gift prints, by Terry Fuckwitt on Jan 23, 2020 18:07:22 GMT 1, Is this just going to be worth a ton because it’s signed and there is only /14? *www.banksy-value.com
Not it won't, because it will not get Coa from PC. I think Dismaland gift prints were going between £5-8k although there would be more of them.

Banksy GDP staff gift prints, by met on Jan 23, 2020 18:10:20 GMT 1, Nice print... looks like better paper than the free handouts. Is there an edition number, or just a dedication? Just dedication but there was 14 given out now to find a lovely frame, any recommendations?
Thank you for following up and posting a photo link to your gift.
__________
In fairness, I would suggest you're owed an apology by two or three of our members. The manner in which you were previously treated was at times gratuitously rude.
Of course it's always advisable to remain vigilant on this forum. There are plenty of scammers around, and individuals otherwise looking to deceive — often by using more than one forum account and username. Many of us have witnessed cases where people have been ripped off, misled, or drawn like fools into tiresome and futile exchanges with trolls.
But in our interactions with online strangers, there's also a clear difference between:
(i) behaving cautiously; and
(ii) being unduly hostile towards fellow members, as if the assumption should be that everybody is guilty until they prove themselves innocent.
The first option is wise and reasonable. The second option alienates, unnecessarily creating an unpleasant forum atmosphere.
If you were of a more sensitive disposition, I imagine the initial reception here could easily have pushed you to delete your account. And that would have been to our loss.
__________
Regarding framing, if you're based in Greater London, an easy recommendation would be Darbyshire* in Islington, near Angel tube station.
Have a chat with them and hear what they have to say — preferably in person, so you can also see the actual studio and get a better feel for the business.
[Some members recommend Mister Frame Man. For different reasons, that isn't a path I myself would take.]
Further thoughts:
1. With a gift like yours from Banksy, you should avoid any temptation to skimp on the framing. Psychologically prepare yourself to spend £500+. It's a proper investment, but one you're unlikely to regret in the years or decades to come.
2. Go for archival everything (i.e. 100% reversible). And get this specified in writing by your framer, along with all the details of the specific materials to be used.
3. In terms of glazing, high-end acrylic is preferable to glass. My fallback recommendation for anything of significant financial or sentimental value is Tru Vue Optium Museum Acrylic*. It is anti-UV, non-reflective, shatter-resistant, abrasion-resistant, lightweight and anti-static.
4. I advise float-mounting the artwork (perhaps with a slightly raised float-mount), instead of matting.
Here's an advantage with float-mounting: To the extent there's any fading from light damage to the print over time, the discolouration will occur more evenly and less noticeably than if a window mat were used (which would cover the print along its borders).
[Anti-UV glazing has the benefit of blocking out most UV rays, but not all of them. It also won't protect your artwork against visible light, which is also harmful.]
5. Consider a simple, minimal style like a white box frame with a relatively thin moulding width.
6. The post below with a template email may assist when reaching out to framers for a quote:

7. Congratulations and good luck.

Banksy GDP staff gift prints, by tab1 on Jan 23, 2020 23:35:24 GMT 1, I dont believe I need to "verify" I was a brown jacket, this forum amuses me. The ones from mr Simmons were of a gunman shooting bullet holes in the shape of a heart. My tube said "team banksy" on it... they are signed and embossed with his logo You’re absolutely correct that you don’t need to verify you were one of the brown coated helpers but it would stop people calling you a lying cunt... unless that amuses you too. 🙈All friends now🙄

I couldn’t agree more with your initial comments, Met. The unpleasantness of some posts these days (not specifically this thread, but in general) has led me to frequent this forum, and contribute, so much less than I use to. I find it a great shame.

Very unlikely to sell but been sent offers from £3k upto £15k... 15k IMO would be a GREAT Selling price for one. If you're looking for money, take it and run... maybe even invest in another entry level print by banksy, get it registered in your name, pocket some money.
Personally I would say around 8500 would be fair. Right there with some of the lower end prints that you can get COA's on.
I'd skip ever wanting to buy a print dedicated to someone else. It would feel weird to me. I find it off putting, like I have something of someone else not intended for me in my home.

Two ways to look at imo
- Disma and Cans can be found for 6-9k£. As a gift print this could be priced the same - This gift print is also a rat print, and everyone knows it’s about the rats. so maybe 12 or more who knows
In both cases it remains a gift print and shouldn’t be compared in any way to a print with a COA, for price reasons or otherwise.

Banksy GDP staff gift prints, by irl1 on Jan 24, 2020 17:02:18 GMT 1, What would these be valued at ? Very unlikely to sell but been sent offers from £3k upto £15k... Bite the hand of the person giving you £15k for it, these will never get a COA
By the way they are a nice gift well done to you

Banksy GDP staff gift prints, by Inknart on Jan 24, 2020 17:10:52 GMT 1, Werent the cans and dismaland ones more produced ? Theres only 14 of these Two ways to look at imo - Disma and Cans can be found for 6-9k£. As a gift print this could be priced the same - This gift print is also a rat print, and everyone knows it’s about the rats. so maybe 12 or more who knows In both cases it remains a gift print and shouldn’t be compared in any way to a print with a COA, for price reasons or otherwise. It's a GIFT print, NOT eligible for COA. With YOUR name on it. Frame it and enjoy the fact you have a signed banksy dedicated to you from one of the most prolific artists of our generation who is world renowned. Pass it onto family and stop worrying about the price.
It sounds like you're now fishing for some big number to try and offload.
Throw it in an auction if you want to price check it.

Banksy GDP staff gift prints, by Dive Jedi on Jan 24, 2020 17:26:31 GMT 1, Yes only 14 and is there any special type of glass that are extra protective? Quite new to this sort of thing. Nice gift! Make sure you get it framed at a place that knows what they're doing, I'd personally want it to be "Conservation Level Framing", acid free mount, backing board (not mounted to the board!), and UV anti-reflective glass. I personally wouldn't "float" this as it means you have a deeper box and then from what I know, if you use antireflective UV glass you could get a slight blur. I used UV protective glass on my daughters, I didn't do antireflective but that's because I didn't feel the need to, not where it's positioned in the her room. HuH ?!

It's a fantastic keepsake, but it won't ever be worth a "ton." But, then again, it depends on what you consider a ton. In the realm of signed banksy prints with coa's, it will not be. What makes you think PC won't give a COA?
That Flower Thrower that Phillips have for sale at the moment was a gift, and that has a COA?

Massive Original is different from a screen print I suppose. That and i don't think any gift prints with dedications were ever given coa. I'm assuming whoever received that was very tight with B.

I get that they wouldn't want to issue a COA immediately, but they are issued.
I'm sure I remember a gift print in an auction years ago (10+ years?), it was the first time we'd seen his heart and CND/Peace symbols instead of numbering, so there was quite a buzz on the forum.
