Banksy GDP staff gift prints, by iamzero on Jan 27, 2020 22:32:25 GMT 1, I wonder how many crisis as usual prints were given out...
Quick question, anyone aware of different paper being used on the rat prints? I got two rat prints at GDP but one of mine (which I've kept) seems to be done on slightly but noticeably thicker paper? Any info would be great

Quick question, anyone aware of different paper being used on the rat prints? I got two rat prints at GDP but one of mine (which I've kept) seems to be done on slightly but noticeably thicker paper? Any info would be great I grabbed two, and wanted to buy one extra for a friend who gave me the mission of finding him one at a reasonable price :-) So I searched and found one on eBay who seemed legit. After few message exchange with the seller, I ended up ordering it... but when it arrived I could compare it with mine and the paper was definitely different so I kind of try confronting him with the fact that his was fake (especially he sold in the past some "dismaland tenner" (big warning scam . sign to anyone selling Dismaland prints, tenner, ... ). He told me that the one I got was from the second batch :-) sure ... anyway thanks to Paypal and the ebay protection he will be able to stick it in his xxx ... So all of this, to warn everyone trying to grab one now, that some Assxxxx are trying to sell fake ones for the real one (some have the honesty to mention "LAZER COPY") but some not :-) Be Aware...

Banksy GDP staff gift prints, by Monsieur2T on Jan 27, 2020 22:50:31 GMT 1, No Idea, would love some info if anyone who worked there can enlighten us poor little collector. From my estimation (again that's just personal guess / estimate based on what I could see there during the show, internet, ...)
Crisis As Usual: ~250 Thrower: ~300 Rats: ~1000 (2 batch on 2 different paper ?)

Banksy GDP staff gift prints, by Monsieur2T on Jan 27, 2020 23:09:16 GMT 1, We are not all here unfortunately able to afford Banksy's with COA price And all need to start somewhere. Of course I wish I could afford better, but I am already extremely happy that I could grab some prints during the Shop stunt. It wasn't a disappointing shopping experience to everyone :-) What can I ask for more ? It was free ! (some couch surfing at friend's house and a flight ticket to London).

That Flower Thrower that Phillips have for sale at the moment was a gift, and that has a COA?
It will be mine. Oh yes. It will be mine.

This is a frequent issue with written communications, especially online between strangers.
When we don't have the benefit of hearing vocal inflections or seeing the body language and facial expression of the other person, the intended tone of their words can often be misinterpreted.
We've all been witness to such things:
(i) a joke is made; (ii) the humour isn't picked up; (iii) the situation escalates due to the misunderstanding; and (iv) a load of bad blood is generated from nothing, when there was never any ill intent to begin with.
It's a risk I often face myself, for two additional reasons:
1. Deadpan comedy appeals to me. So when saying things in jest, my own delivery will often be dry and flat.
2. The position I generally take is that, except for satirical purposes, no one above the age of 15 should have to resort to using (admittedly sometimes-helpful) emojis when conversing in writing.
__________
To minimise the potential for confusion, it therefore seems advisable that readers stay on the lookout for cases where a comment's intended tone isn't 100% clear.
Whenever this kind of uncertainty exists, the safest rule of thumb is to be generous in spirit — by offering the writer the benefit of the doubt (unless that person has previously given you good reason to believe otherwise). In other words, if there's a chance they might be kidding, why not just assume they are?
To automatically read negative intent in these ambiguous situations feels unfair, and it risks coming across as defensive.
__________
What I took away from the comment by Dive Jedi was one member simply being playful and having a laugh on a street art forum.
