Harland Miller’s Largest Solo Exhibition 14th Feb, by Riotcops on Feb 24, 2020 16:23:33 GMT 1, more posters are being produced, i got an email from the gallery confirming this Really? I spoke to a lady this morning via telephone who advised that there were no more intended for sale Ya, I got an email from York (without even enquiring) saying there would be more printed and everyone who wanted one would get one online.

Strange as the lady I spoke to was adamant. They may be honouring everyone that initially requested one via email?

Harland Miller’s Largest Solo Exhibition 14th Feb, by Winter on Feb 24, 2020 16:39:59 GMT 1, Sounds like they’re all very disjointed- I heard from someone who spoke to them that they’re printing more that will be available for the duration of the show. This would make sense as they generate money for the venue and keep visitors happy. I wonder if the misinformation on here is by people trying to sell them on eBay to make them seem rarer than they are.

Harland Miller’s Largest Solo Exhibition 14th Feb, by Riotcops on Feb 24, 2020 16:53:30 GMT 1, *I had contacted them originally months prior to the show for the catalogue of available works, not anything about the merchandise. Received this randomly the other day.
Dear York Art Gallery Customer, Thank you for contacting us regarding merchandise produced for our current exhibition, Harland Miller: York, So Good They Named It Once
Due to the huge popularity of the exhibition and associated merchandise it will take us some time to fulfil all orders. I’d like to reassure you that the merchandise isn’t limited and we will be able to supply all of our customers with merchandise in due course. Please note that exhibition posters are likely to be restricted to one per customer. We’ll be in touch again with details of merchandise which we can mail out once we’re in a position to fulfil orders. With best wishes, Ginny

Harland has played a blinder here Sorted all the people that made the effort to go to York with a great piece. Don’t think York Gallery was expecting this mad rush so thought everyone would get one Well done HM for realising not everyone can afford the massive price of his prints( even though I think their price is justified) Totally sorted his poorer fans Well done

I agree, one minute everyone gets one, then a u-turn saying that’s it? (That’s what she told me about 30 minutes ago). They sold more than expected? Really?
The shop is in the entrance area so you didn’t even have to see the show to get one. If it was specified to be one per person maybe it would have been better that they only sold to people who actually saw the show.
Not sure why they can’t email people who she previously emailed to put them in the picture.
I’m still going in the next few weeks regardless, but my budget doesn’t run to £12k + VAT price tags so the poster was a perfect option while visiting.
York Gallery shop - so bad you only visited it once!!

Dont think they will be used to being bombarded with queries from randomers clambouring for a £30 poster by an artist most who work in said shop hadnt heard of until very recently.

Could well put Angelo’s work at Studio Cromie to shame. Picture it: 3000 posters and a handful of museum staff staying late with pizza thrown in for their dinner as a goodwill gesture..

Harland Miller’s Largest Solo Exhibition 14th Feb, by LJCal on Feb 24, 2020 20:10:14 GMT 1, Really don’t know what to believe with these. If I were betting I would say more will be printed as the show has months left to run. I would also guess the amount reprinted won’t be enough to go round and many people won’t be buying these for £30. I bought one on eBay for just over a £100 a week or so back just to be sure I got one.

Harland Miller’s Largest Solo Exhibition 14th Feb, by John The Badgers on Feb 24, 2020 20:27:30 GMT 1, Just my comment, and not knowing about printing costs, but is it viable to produce these for £30? As mentioned, really high quality, more of a print than a poster.
Totally agree with the comments on only being available to people who attend the show. Where they are located, and I saw it for myself, people wandering in, taking a picture of the display poster, and buying them, knowing what they intend to do, a little annoying.
I sincerely hope they are made available again, and get to the people who will enjoy them as they are a really nice item.

You also have to take into account the lurkers who hover in the background, pick up all the info from this forum then sell the art via ebay. Their ebay user names usually have the word 'art' in them. Basically they're ticket touts who take and offer nothing back. If this forum vanished they would pretty much lose their livlihoods.
