New Banksy, Marsh Lane, Barton Hill, Bristol, by overend on Feb 14, 2020 9:57:44 GMT 1, Sure he wouldn’t normally choose a surface like that to paint on but the spot was too good or too pertinent not to. Big nod to Barton Hill and the Youth Club where it all started imo.
Quite a feat getting those flowers in position, in the dark, in the high winds, in the heavy rain.

New Banksy, Marsh Lane, Barton Hill, Bristol, by nex on Feb 14, 2020 10:02:20 GMT 1, I think the flowers look stupid. The juxtaposition of the plastic 3D flowers and the 2D stencil girl makes it feel like they are not part of the same piece of artwork. It causes an awkward disconnection within the concept of the piece. OK, there you go. I have spoken. No one's allowed to like this piece. I'll buy a signed print of it for a tenner though.
👍 good post
That juxtaposition is exactly why I like it - taking street art somewhere a little different

New Banksy, Marsh Lane, Barton Hill, Bristol, by Terry Fuckwitt on Feb 14, 2020 10:22:34 GMT 1, There have been a few comments on how scaffolding was erected. Surely the building owner must have had a heads up on this beforehand. If a couple of blokes started wacking up scaffolding on the side of my house, I would be straight outside asking what the fuck was going on.

New Banksy, Marsh Lane, Barton Hill, Bristol, by jamieb on Feb 14, 2020 10:46:08 GMT 1, this is one of the plastic flowers that was on the floor by the wall. So the flowers up on the wall are actually plastic ivy painted red. And the flowers dropped on the road sign are something different. Makes sense from a technical point of views as plastic ivy will come in long lengths and be easier to wrap around wire etc. to make the piece to go on the wall.

The house is rented, split into 3 flats. When I rented I don't think I paid much attention to work on the building, let alone taking place quietly round the side at 5am
The articles seem to say the daughter of the owner only found out through Facebook.

Ah, fair enough. It's just jellya posted earlier yesterday he was talking to the owner of the property, so thought it was just one house. Also, I've never met quiet scaffolders😉

The narrative that it’s the same girl is odd to me.
One she appears to be the same height. Maybe has aged only a couple years although how long has it been since the balloon piece.
If this is meant to be a continued narrative of the girl then it’s SUPER clumsy.

I'd been contemplating blocking you anyway having seen your usual comments, thanks for giving me the final nudge to do it.

New Banksy, Marsh Lane, Barton Hill, Bristol, by Happy Shopper on Feb 14, 2020 13:32:38 GMT 1, I like the idea that she's bursting the heart balloon... but...
Alternatively, maybe it's just a girl using "vandalism" to beautify an ugly building? Using a catapult to spread flowers over it.

My memory is not what it once was. But didn’t your original post say that your friend had told you about the piece and you invited comment as to whether it might be by Banksy. Have you altered your original post? Forgive me if I am mistaken.
