Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by LJCal on Apr 24, 2020 1:34:17 GMT 1, Looking through some other sources of back reports on new medicines and vaccines trials when they had 5 years or more of research And development and still went terribly wrong , there is so much potential for a new vaccine or drugs produced to go wrong when short cuts taken to produce in under two years when the majority of scientific staff state the case of developing to end product is 5-10 years , trials would be very limited and long term effects will not be observed .
It seems that governments and the gaggles of quacks advising them seem to have forgotten about long term or unpredictable consequences with their advice to date. Just as long as they keep r below 1 fuck worrying about anything else.

With no positive news to broadcast there would be worry within the government of a tipping point to civil unrest and riots at some point ,hence daily deaths statistics manipulated to give lower figures and stalling Upscaling tests To a greater proportion of the public Which As figures given at present gives a sense of safety as from figures released looks as if the spread of infection is low along with Lower deaths which the general public are buying into
From most news reports and scientific quotes looking most likely a vaccine may not be plausible but if this was bluntly Or truthfully released would not be welcomed from the majority of the public and Would cause panic news.sky.com/story/coronavirus-merkel-warns-germany-covid-19-crisis-still-at-the-beginning-11977468
If you follow the U.K. government briefings and governments statementS from around the world more information that had been previously held back is slowly being released daily about the severity of this issue , gives the public time to digest facts in a logical manne rather than To be overloaded with the starK reality And with no cure Available could cause many social issues if all Information released At once

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by Schrödinger's Chat on Apr 24, 2020 7:10:15 GMT 1, Have mps taken a reduction in their wages ?
To the contrary didn't they start claiming £10k for working from home, whilst the rest of us can claim £6 per month towards our additional electricity costs etc for working from home.
Actually I just read and article that explains the £10k is an uplift in what MPs can claim in expenses, to help set up a home office - £10k to set up a home office! Knowing how unscrupulous many of them are with expenses it pretty much is a £10k pay rise on top of the £82k salary.

Just inject yourself with disinfectant.
Donald Trump has stunned viewers by suggesting that people could receive injections of disinfectant to cure the coronavirus, a notion one medical expert described as “jaw-dropping”

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by tab1 on Apr 24, 2020 13:37:45 GMT 1, I dunno, in the early days on here many people talked how they were turning away from putting their savings in the Bank and preferred to invest in art as a safer place during recession. So could the effect actually turn into more people being worried about the stock markets and switch to buying Art at least until business picks up again? the value of hirst dived a year after the first crash , speculation at Best but with this type of scenario the art market will take a big dive if the present situation is long term

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by moron on Apr 24, 2020 20:21:58 GMT 1, So the lock down continues in a half hearted way and the government advice was that masks do not prevent people catching the virus at the beginning to when the lockdown is lifted people are advised to cover their mouths. Why doesn't the government just say it. Masks do protect against spreading and catching the virus.
Apparently there are eight thousand manufacturers who can produce masks in the UK, the majority of who have been ignored by the government. Probably because the government employs some spiv to do the mask purchasing for them whilst cutting costs in order to make more profit and not buying enough PPE for NHS workers.
So I hope people get behind these two doctors.
"Doctors launch legal action over Government's PPE guidance"
"Two doctors are launching legal action against the Government's guidance on personal protective equipment (PPE) in hospitals during the coronavirus outbreak.
Meenal Viz and Nishant Joshi, a husband and wife expecting a child, have been exposed to patients with Covid-19 and are concerned that current PPE guidance and availability are inadequate to protect them from infection.
Dr Viz is a clinical fellow in medicine and Dr Joshi is a GP trainee. Both are employed by the NHS.
"We are incredibly concerned at the ever-growing numbers of healthcare workers who are becoming seriously unwell and dying due to Covid-19," they said in a statement issued by law firm Bindmans."

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by mojo on Apr 24, 2020 20:49:59 GMT 1, Here are the official Coronavirus guidelines: 1. Basically, you can't leave the house for any reason, but if you have to, then you can. 2. Masks are useless. But they will protect you. They can save you, no they can’t, they’re useless, but wear one anyway. Now they’re mandatory. But maybe. Or not. 3. Stores are closed, except for the ones that are open. 4. You should not go to the hospital unless you have to go there. Stay out of the ER at all costs unless you’re having a medical emergency then it’s okay. 5. This virus is deadly but still not too scary, except that sometimes it actually leads to a global disaster. Stay calm. 6. Gloves won't help, but they can still help. Especially if you wear the same pair for hours and everywhere you go, then you can not spread germs, nope. #science 7. Everyone needs to stay home, but it's important to go out because sun. Sunlight will kill the virus but not if the virus kills you first by walking in the sunlight where you may be exposed to the virus. 8. There is no shortage of groceries in the supermarket, but there are many things missing when you go there in the evening, but not in the morning. Sometimes. 9. The virus has no effect on children except those it has affected or will affect. 10. Animals are not affected, but there is still a cat that tested positive in Belgium in February when no one had been tested yet, and a tiger.. and one really deadly but also possibly fictional but very sick bat. 11. You will have many symptoms when you are sick, but you can also get sick without symptoms, have symptoms without being sick, or be contagious without having symptoms. 12. In order not to get sick, you have to eat well and exercise, but also never go out to the grocery store so eat shelf stable processed crap and stay inside your four walls but also stay healthy. 13. It's better to get some fresh air, but you may be arrested if you’re getting fresh air the wrong way and most importantly, don't go to a park, the fresh air there is deadly. 14. Under no circumstances should you go to retirement homes, but if you have to take care of the elderly and bring them food and medication then fine. Just wear gloves. The same ones. All day. 15. If you are sick, you can't go out, but you can go to the pharmacy to get your medications. Just don’t make eye contact cause you may spread your sickness that way. 16. You can get restaurant food delivered to the house, which may have been prepared by people who didn't wear masks or gloves. But you have to leave your groceries outside for 3 hours to be decontaminated by the fresh air that also may have virus particles floating around in it. 17. Taxi drivers are immune to the virus apparently since you can still take a taxi ride with a random taxi driver. Just don’t take the taxi to your mom’s house because you know. Stay away from your mom. 18. You can walk around with a friend if you stay six feet apart but don’t visit with your family if they don't live under the same roof as you. Even if you’ve all been locked inside for two months already. You may still have the virus and just not know it yet. You’ll find out. Wait another week. Wasn’t that week? Might be the next one. Keep waiting. 19. You are safe if you maintain the appropriate social distance, but you can’t go out with friends or strangers at the safe social distance. Social distancing means you shouldn’t leave your house and don’t be social, except you may go to the liquor store but don’t socialize there while you’re being socially distant. 20. The virus remains active on different surfaces for two hours, no, four, no, six, no, we didn't say hours, maybe days? But it takes a damp environment. Oh no, not necessarily. 21. The virus stays in the air - well no, or yes, maybe, especially in a closed room, in one hour a sick person can infect ten, so if it falls, all our children were already infected at school before it was closed. But remember, if you stay at the recommended social distance, however in certain circumstances you should maintain a greater distance, which, studies show, the virus can travel further, maybe. 22. We count the number of deaths but we don't know how many people are infected as we have only tested so far those who were "almost dead" to find out if that's what they will die of… 23. The virus will only disappear if we achieve collective immunity.. but stay inside until the virus disappears. 24. If you are out; look down at the ground because if you make eye contact and say hello then you’ll definitely get it. Maybe.

Maybe.
I hope that was cathartic to write, it certainly reads like it was. I agree with like 99% of your usual posts but will have to politely disagree with this one.
I dont think the government is providing vague advice because it hates the British public or is trying to be deceptive or incompetent. I think the reality is we have very few facts right now and the government has to give general advice to c.70m people. It would be impossible to write guidance that addresses every single scenario c.70m people would run into everyday so general advice is given. People have to apply common sense and act with consideration towards others.
There has only been one small study of how long the virus lasts on various surfaces. Reviews of other illness transmission indicate wearing masks is not that effective at stopping the spread but may still be effective to some degree. It seems the primary method of transmission is droplets from an infected person so social distancing is the best strategy with all additional measures being marginal (though there is not much data on how marginal). There are very few facts and lots of educated guesses being made.
It will take a long time for us to have the full picture of primary methods of transmission, the true infection rate and mortality rate and the best methods of protecting vulnerable people and the population at large.
I hope you are staying safe and washing your gloves...or whatever it is we’re supposed to be doing...
Here are the official Coronavirus guidelines: 1. 12.
