Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by H.R. on May 6, 2020 5:27:49 GMT 1, Good article. Very close to how things are about to play out. Some would call this โcheck mateโ... โ It could claim that in cancelling Chinese holdings of U.S. Treasury debt, the United States is only recouping Chinaโs international debt cancelled by the Chinese Communist Party when it seized power in 1949.โ โ๐ป Good luck with that. More likely to see more jumping up and down from Trump trying to distract from his own shortcomings around the virus in order to get re-elected. The Chinese clearly made some grave errors but clearly many other governments followed suit

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by drip on May 10, 2020 10:57:45 GMT 1, After initially being a ghost town, in the past week, my road came alive again. The younger residents (under 50 and with no visible health conditions?) have had multiple tradesmen in, working on several (very occupied) houses. No social distancing of any kind. Mugs of tea and tools passed back and forth by residents and builders. They may as well French kiss. I've also witnessed days of them sneaking friends and family in so they can have a few drinks in their back gardens. The older residents? They are still unseen, hunkered down in their homes, and getting groceries dropped off in their gardens.
Poor Mrs Bennett next door, won't even come out into her garden if I'm in mine. Although that could just be because she hates me. I saw her a few weeks ago, peering at me through her conservatory door. I waved. She waved back. She's friendly, I thought, and I waved again. She waved back. Then waved again, more enthusiastically. And again. And again. After a few minutes I realised she was trying to tell me to f*ck off so she could go outside and get her washing in.
Whatever the future of this pandemic looks like, whatever this government announces, in just my street alone, it's like the easing of restrictions has organically happened already. They're either not frightened anymore or they figure it's worth the risk, but the younger residents are getting back to normal, while those at risk are having to continue to take extra precautions and avoid society. Without a vaccine, that might be how society will look for a while.

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by tab1 on May 10, 2020 11:10:58 GMT 1, The same story is around the world . There is an acceptable amount the governments have figured that will die regardless of actions and just down to individuals Now to manage their fate with the information out there . Policing is out of the window mostly in the U.K. with isolations , a random few stories of travel fines make the media to try to enforce isolations

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by tab1 on May 10, 2020 23:19:32 GMT 1, The government has lost the strategic planning and management of the pandemic from the start , lack of preventive actions implemented when visible physcal signs were displayed globally and data was being shared in the early stages of the pandemic from European countries and china with the uk
Also the framework for pre planning of a pandemic the uk government had spent years draughting a policy and updating and implementing into practice along with the NHS contingency crisis management policies and pandemic plans that we now can see was clearly not actioned or followed .
These policies can run into millions of gdp to set up and implement with departments seconded to set up , these have all now been proved a waste of time in productivity management and tax payers money as they were not followed.
One of the important parts of these policies which has been a major crisis in this pandemic and has caused many unnecessary deaths in the health care front line was to medical staff and has caused rates of infections to spread to patients from medical staff , is that of a lack of PPE which these policies specifically predicted a need for increased levels of ppe in a pandemic and required stockpiles to be stored nationally in warehouses and to have back up strategies of suppliers contracts already contracted to create supplies if the need arised which has now shown none of the requirements stated in all of the government policies were set up .
Then to be in a bidding process to require the cheapest options to fill the shortfall of ppe purchasing from china and turkey which has shown the products purchased to fail many safety standards , with the blame then put on America in the early stages of the pandemic to the lack of ppe as of outbidding on the costs of ppe to excuse the shortfall in ppe , the cancelling of uk contracts on developments of ventillators to then buy from china which chief medical staff now inform through leak documents the recently purchased Chinese ventillators are the wrong type and could cause more deaths.
One would think the government would over pay to curb their failings in the shortfall of ppe but they are creating more needless deaths as purchasing the cheapest options available which has now shown to be faulty .
www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2020/apr/30/entire-order-of-250-chinese-ventilators-were-useless-despite
There is no clear handling so far from the government , in the early stages of the pandemic the middle classes were the biggest groups ignoring all advice on isolations , the groups that you would think would listen to advice and follow government recommendations ,these groups were breaking isolations with many travelling from London the highest rates of infections in the uk with multitudes of mutated virus strains present from the highest concentration of international travellers in the uk to windlemere ,Lake District ,wales ,Somerset etc as reported at the time in the news at the time , once in these places not following the social distancing either . Many are still attending second homes across the country when warm weather is present
When the government introduced the quaritines for travellers returning to the uk in the beginning only a few were put through the procedure , was this done just for show at the time , to show the government had everything under control to calm the public
www.theguardian.com/world/2020/may/05/just-273-people-arriving-in-uk-in-run-up-to-lockdown-quarantined
www.politicshome.com/news/article/just-300-passengers-who-arrived-in-uk-from-coronavirus-hotspots-quarantined-out-of-18million
With the uk health advisors , scientific advisors and many MPs not following the governments isolations guidelines what tone of message does this send to the general public
Police can not enforce the guide lines set by the government , many forces going overboard with their interpretations of the guide lines , many police chiefs complaining about mixed messages from the government .
Many sporadic small demonstrations are occurring about the isolations which are not being reported by the main media , the last two weekends if you look through some internet sites , everyone is disregarding social distancing and isolations and sunbathing and congregating in groups in parks when the weather is nice , with the warm hot summer weather around the corner this behaviour will become worse hence the government playing at easing lockdown measures to ease the risk of civil unrest , with no time line of a release of a vaccine or medications to halt the virus it is not the right time to ease isolations .
The government needs to be more direct , more transparent in their findings of new research with the virus And maybe the general public will take the seriousness of the pandemic highly .
Data should be present now on the rates of deaths with effects in relation to different illnesses ,ethnicities ,ages etc Maybe this data should be released and the public will maybe follow guidelines advised .
At present lockdowns eased in Spain ,Germany and South Korea and cases of infections are rising already , which is not a case of maybe if infections and deaths rise in the uk post ease of lockdowns it is when the deaths will rise unnecessarily with relaxations now We are in one country yet wales , England and Scotland have different health policies which they are following and give slightly differing advice to their citizens this is creating further confusion for the public .
The essential trips I have made to food shop , social distancing is not existent , people cough and sneeze without covering their faces . The way this pandemic is handled now is just to manage the inevitable deaths to a manageable number
People that do not show symptoms could potentially wipe out their workforce , there are also cases globally of people purposefully spitting on public items and coughing in people's faces to pursposefully spread the virus ,which presents the case that many can not be left to their own to make the correct choices and need some type of management or guidance which is all over the place at present .

Who actually follows the advice ?
Tied into the previous time line post if all is correct and factual , the number of mistakes made in the handling of the pandemic is totally unacceptable , A public enquiry will take years to conclude
The government has lost the strategic planning and management of the pandemic from the start , lack of preventive actions implemented when visible physcal signs were displayed globally and data was being shared in the early stages of the pandemic from European countries and china with the uk Also the framework for pre planning of a pandemic the uk government had spent years draughting a policy and updating and implementing into practice along with the NHS contingency crisis management policies and pandemic plans that we now can see was clearly not actioned or followed . Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by tab1 on May 11, 2020 11:37:42 GMT 1, It is reckless to send children back to school With out Totally excluding the risk Of infections ,at present potentially Will be putting children in a probability of a risk Of death At the extreme and the anxiety and mental health issues it will cause for parents Would have some type of impact on the family unit
With other associated diseases recently coming to light that only impact and effect children that are presumed to be linked to covid 19 and no conclusive studies to exclude these statements yet What kind of message is this sending to parents to place children especially the age group concerned with the weakest immune system back in schools which may become the highest places of infections in the future.
All the hard surfaces present in schools that bacteria and viruses can stay active outside of the body For many days
www.bbc.com/future/article/20200317-covid-19-how-long-does-the-coronavirus-last-on-surfaces
www.webmd.com/lung/how-long-covid-19-lives-on-surfaces
The age groups suggested to first go back to school are All not at an age to follow and understand instructions At best , social distancing will be Non existent and out of the window , washing hands after touching items will be very limited , face masks would not work as some will be scared to wear or unwilling Plus the very issue of sourcing these products are hard to procure and many at the lower end of Financial income Groups may not be able to afford the extra expense as shown that some of these childrenโs age groups only have a decent meal when at school
www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/hild-poverty-uk-children-hunger-hungry-meals-low-income-families-benefits-a8848041.html%3famp
Children are the highest groups in contracting illnesses of flu and colds With no clear Distinctive symptoms And Early symptoms Associated with the flu or colds Which are common constantly in school childrenโ some cases of covid 19 may go un detected and infect The childโs homes And then their parents workplace
If testing is the only way at present to detect mitigate and prevent infections I can not see this happening with in schools when the tests promised for the public are failing to meet targets set as lack of testing kits , the kit itself is not 100% accurate and the procedure is very invasive which may cause future phobias in children .
The workers that enter the schools Ie the cleaners which must disinfect the surfaces in the school , have they got the correct ppe , are they following correct guide line procedures At home? They could potentially cross contaminate and spread the viruses all over the school? It is having trust that all staff is following correct Government guidelines outside of the schools along with parents and children which is a big ask as clearly shown by the media Many Of the general public are clearly not .
www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.edsurge.com/amp/news/2020-04-20-how-china-s-schools-are-getting-through-covid-19
China is still using online teaching and schools that are physically attended high enforced distancing and disinfection used through out the day which can not see working here
The virus attacks other parts of the body not discussed through the media in depth which research has proved and more ongoing studies are still being met , part of recent studies is covid 19 effects the heart and brain with Results being strokes and heart attacks
www.healthline.com/health-news/how-covid-19-triggers-heart-conditions
I would hope A more Structured plan is set for The opening of schools as adults can make decisions And have choices but children depend on the decisions of adults

The way deaths are recorded globally are if the patient dies had tested positive For covid 19 before death only Then will it be recorded as covid 19 Death
Tests can be carried out at the time of death but are not , the true figures of death must be really high for not wanting to test more accurately ?
Regardless of governments not wanting to scare the general public all facts and research should be shared with the public , eventually leaks of scientific information will occur then there is the possibility of trust lost from the public .

The other day on another thread a guy was complaining he was ripped off , he started to mention the buyers daughter in a unacceptable Manner , few posters where comparing him to a nonce and paedophile Which again is wrong ,Before it got out of hand I tried to diffuse the thread as most posters find this unfolding behaviour funny to read ,I do not look down on anyone
