Banksy™ Thrower Prints Set, Gross Domestic Product™, by Knowss on Aug 22, 2020 22:41:45 GMT 1, 😯😯😯 I didnt see numbers in the back. Is it edition number?? Or like 1 2 and 3? Edition number. So each piece said xxx/300. The framer pointed it out, I didn't even notice.
Interesting 😯 I had no idea

Banksy™ Thrower Prints Set, Gross Domestic Product™, by Jeezuz Jones Snr on Aug 22, 2020 22:54:26 GMT 1, Wow these are going to look amazing framed, send through some photos guys 👍. I would be painting the wall behind with a dark Victorian colour like they did back in the day. Would look amazing with the gold ornate. Both frame and print would stand out lovely..
Also just read the dimensions, realised its a big piece of work overall.

I went a little outside the box. I got away from the oval, added a mat and floated it. The frames are slightly ornate with a touch of pewter. I have a feeling that some will love it and some will hate it. But I really love how it's coming together. Should have pics in 3 weeks

I did not go with the oval. Just personal preference. I love the way it looks with the oval but I just prefer not covering any of the art.

Glad mine arrived much later so I can see your framing!

Banksy™ Thrower Prints Set, Gross Domestic Product™, by eleuterio2020 on Aug 28, 2020 19:25:05 GMT 1, My framer, who works directly with artists and museums, suggested me, against his own interest, to go in second hands markets and find frames that fits with Banksy idea, nothing new but reuse of existing. I found a couple and I am gonna keep not in perfect condition.
It was a great suggestion.

I wouldn't scrimp on framing for a Thrower or any Banksy print. The pricing of a good protective frame is tiny compared to the prints value. You can't be certain of the frames materials or problems when purchased like that.
Does your framer want you to bring the frames back so they can be restored, upgraded and re-used?

Horrendous idea. Worst idea ever.
Awful.
Ontop of that, ornate frames never look good outside of banksy settings. Its a trap to fall into. Frame this properly or dont bother and sell it

Its not bullshit.
Read the framing advice from people who have been here 15 years then get back to me and thank me for not letting you chuck 100k down the shitter

You're going to frame a piece of art (the thower?), which in these crazy times could be worth a quarter of a million dollars or more, in fucking used frames?!? Frame the thing properly, do not go cheap on this.
Why are people so skint when it comes to proper framing? I get it... it's expensive, especially in big city markets... but that's life. They provide a service, it has value.

You are right FR.
Most people that collect prints make mistakes early and scrimp and don't seek out the best framers or understand about conservation. They make these mistakes on relatively cheap prints. By the time they progress to more expensive works they have learnt from themselves and others. Problem with starting a collection and learning experience with a top tier item is that you will make mistakes on that item. That is where the value of this forum comes in to help new collectors learn from the experience of others.

Sadly i can see a quarter of this edition being fucked via framing badly. I only feel the pain as ive seen and had some dodgy framing jobs along the way

Unless your framer plans some very very serious And ingenious work on these old frames, this is a terrible idea

With second hand frames you can’t be sure of condition or quality, and it would be such a shame to see what is arguably one of Banksy’s best prints get damaged.
If you’re happy with the quality of the second hand frames do get the framer to double check. The glass needs to be new and museum standard. Don’t cut corners with the glass.
Congrats on the win. I am “well gel”, if you know what I mean.
