Getting my Banksquiat framed. Some urgent questions..., by Deleted on Mar 9, 2020 15:46:49 GMT 1, bperez really?wademax? for a museum archival job? OP please don't do that, you would be only feeding the IG Hype(classy bperez) Sadly wademaxx has been framing long before urban art became so popular. They also do a ton of work for galleries and artists as well. Always top notch framer
i am well aware of their business, practice and clientele.

Getting my Banksquiat framed. Some urgent questions..., by whatisart on Mar 11, 2020 22:36:03 GMT 1, follow up question now that i am going to pick my print up and reconsider my options.
my question is related to trying to keep it as pristine as possible while still enjoying the piece.
is framing a solid choice if this is the goal? obviously ensuring archival/conservation quality and that it's completely reversible.
i would like to enjoy the print but keep it protected at the same time.
thanks!

Getting my Banksquiat framed. Some urgent questions..., by Deleted on Mar 11, 2020 23:17:58 GMT 1, So you want to enjoy the piece but you're asking whether framing it is the right choice? How else do you plan on enjoying it? Sticking it under the bed in a folder and only getting it out on special occasions?
Don't be that guy.

A few of you folks were very helpful in PM.

Getting my Banksquiat framed. Some urgent questions..., by Rubberneck on Mar 12, 2020 0:52:52 GMT 1, Definitely frame it archival museum standard, you got it for a bargain price, you wonโt lose. If itโs just an asset ๐คฎ and you plan to sell it as soon as you get COA, donโt frame it.

Youโre going to give yourself a heart attack stressing about it this much. Take it to a good framer; when itโs framed, donโt hang it in direct sunlight or above a radiator; enjoy it.
You donโt have to treat it like the Crown Jewels. If itโs well framed it will be fine.

Getting my Banksquiat framed. Some urgent questions..., by esfer on Mar 12, 2020 21:05:58 GMT 1, Did the framer suggest using a mat board? Believe it or smoke it, some framers do not know how to properly float a piece.
Supposedly this particular piece comes on a thicker board like paper, that might make the use of corners for floating difficult. Please DO NOT use mat board, it causes discoloration around the edges, even if using UV plexi or Museum glass, over time.
Also, I would def recommend using UV plexi glass, as a piece this size will weigh a ton if you use Museum glass, and we all know glass breaks when it falls.
Paying over $1000.00 to frame a piece that is roughly 29โ x 29โ probably means you are over spending on the framing. The frame is for safely displaying and accenting an artwork...it isnโt the artwork. Think of it as...the frame.
I know itโs frustrating, but you will be happy in the end. Most advice here is solid advice. They are very unlikely to have begun working on your piece yet.

Getting my Banksquiat framed. Some urgent questions..., by dueuomo on Apr 23, 2020 3:30:55 GMT 1, How did it go in the end?
I am framing a different Banksy and considering whether to do a high float or a window float mount. I like the high float more, but the framer told me it will require more tape/paste, but still full conservation standards. any suggestions? Never done it like that before (always did simple floating and window mount), that's why I am asking. thanks
