Dondi ๐บ๐ธ New York Graffiti โข Donald Joseph White, by Lroy on Apr 12, 2023 9:19:38 GMT 1, Just to tell you that Beyond The Streets made available a book about The New York City Rap Tour from Janet Beckman , kinda festival where I was in 1982 in Paris Bataclan ! I did not know then that I would see live legends of Hip Hop, rap and Graffitis ! The Bataclan was a bit empty for this international event but the show was great ! Futura and Fab 5 Freddy dedicated me then my red Jacket with a big marker, in the back ! ( I lost it since this time, I was 22 ) beyondthestreets.com/products/copy-of-graffiti-love-zine Lroy... you're a very lucky old man!... Obviously "old" in affectionate terms. In that same year... my interest was linked only to milk! :-))) Do you still have that jacket? No I lost it of course or I threw it away rather.. You knnow, in the old good times, there was no photos, no social media, no videos, I collected then badges, singles, all for the music ( and the only great rap band was then Grandmasterflash ), I did not like so much graffiti, ( It just came from USA ! )
But we ( in punk, ska , hip hop gigs etc ) really enjoy the shows ! Now people only think to souvenirs, selfies, catch the concert live and posting it on Instagram etc... They did not really enjoy the shows ( you can't do things at the same time ) ... It was freedom then and we don"'t care !

You end up using it all the time... forgetting that life can be lived to the fullest even without it!
There are people who live only for the instagram profile.

It would have been great to still have that jacket!... Unfortunately you are absolutely right... especially on the distorted use of applied technology. You end up using it all the time... forgetting that life can be lived to the fullest even without it! There are people who live only for the instagram profile. Disappointing. |
