I used to own Conor Harrington's 'A Worm In The Suburban Bud' and 'Trapped By Language' which were also printed like this and as much as I liked those images, I wasn't particularly impressed by the result of that printing technique. |

the glicee print was his first print..under his old mngmnt, which was someone close to him. they didnt sell out, they were available for a while.
i knew of jholmes before all of that.
i wont feed into a printhouse that has a system of pre pre sales, just not my thing, let it be equal to all, just one presale, no elitist.
guess i'm out of the jholmes scene and i'll continue the search for the next modest artist

this is not an artist whose message really jives with throw your money at a gallery so you can have a chance to buy his print.
i understand from a gallery perspective why this happens, that LB always does this, but surely you can see the other perspective?
jamie's work is strongly tied to race and how he grew up. and the only people who were able to buy up his edition were wealthy white guys.
art and artists should be supported. a webshop is just that.

It’s not elitist to have pre sales. They stop the prints going to the flippers.
We get them because they know us, trust us and we support them.
