Ive only been looking for maybe 2-3 months so not got that much to go on. Not sure if its a bubble or just people worrying about a double dip recession.
There seem to be a lot of high priced/value prints and originals available at the moment. But is it people needing cash or getting out based on where they see prices going. i dont know, but will hopefully get to buy my first Banksy at a low price and will be able to sweep up a few of them for my walls!!

Go for an image you enjoy and not because of hype - eg the CYW absurdity on here at the minute. If you are looking at longer term & possibly a return, then go for Iconic early banksy with a bit of humour and sly sedition attached to it . Be wary of this forum as a sounding ground , as many on here have an agenda ( me included )
Given the mini bubble of recent ( rather crap ) Banksy prints, you will get much more for your money if you go back to Bethelehem/ LA or earlier.
print collectors with a large stash of banksy and an eye on prices seem to be dumping & changing the structure of their art portfolio at the minute - a couple of more expensive iconic pieces seems to be a better punt than 8 poor images ( signed or not )
and

If you are into buying rolex watches and sports cars you likely have bigger issues IMO

Prints at times are selling at 14k plus (most recent signed LITTA) whilst last night's charity event couped over 300k USD for (all be it) a very nice heavy weaponry on wood.
In general prints seem to be changing hands in private sales at very high prices (Ebay / Forum) whilst we have also seen some crazy / consistent auction results with the most recent Bonhams auction selling 100% of their Banksy offering.
What is the reason for this spike in prices (both canvas and prints)
Do we think it is sustainable?
Any other comments?

I think possibly due to an influx of people investing in art for financial reasons. These people once had their money in stocks and shares, wine or gold but the easy money is this right now.
Annoying.
