Banksy + Clown Skateboards, by tab1 on Nov 15, 2020 18:29:27 GMT 1, Good for them. A company trying to make money. Capitalism....it’s been around for a while now.
It is a business and thats their primary function , sales and profit but it is the way it is pitched , many here probably bought multiple clothing merchandise as portrayed limited on the day of sales and now more releases at other outlets ? Im sure many would not rush to purchase if knew more to be released later ?
The decks were portrayed as strictly limited but now finding out there are variations ?
The same decks were for sale here a year back and no interest? , now with the banksy hype people are talking about these are worth north of 5/6k ? Small details but the way this has been pitched and variations with the decks what is there to stop more variations to come , this is there only branded product that is in demand and guaranteed to sell out , what business woild cancel their only profitable line?

Banksy + Clown Skateboards, by Richy Rich on Nov 15, 2020 18:29:33 GMT 1, Seems a bit odd to me that two of the people making most of the posts on here didn’t manage to pick up a set, posted that they were keen to get one on the secondary and since then have been trying to talk down prices and question how the company operate.

Banksy + Clown Skateboards, by treblenobass on Nov 15, 2020 18:30:06 GMT 1, Does this mean they can continue to make slight variations of the image forever as long as they don’t print more than 100 of each one every time? 100 x Blue. 100 x red. 100 x Blue/ Red and continue... Primary , pastel , Matt and neon variations to be released later 😉 why so much negativity dude ? It’s laughable now in terms of how much you will believe might happen 😆

It happens over the Years with many prints when an image becomes popular , yes quite laughable over the years when you spot the trends.
Never seen a customer on this forum so defensive for a product they have bought ? Would think you got the first decks for your efforts to plug here? From reading the thread a great deal of sales were generated from just the forum

Talking down one of the most iconic graphics that Banksy has produced in the form of the Clown logo is nothing but complete stupidity.

Acknowdleged the icon status as it has been clearly stated many times by a certain person 🤔🙄this is the holy grail of banksy images .
No one is talking down the image 🥴
You mentioned variations😉

The Clown stepped in with his £10 balloons and we all fell for it

Ok so the answer to this question is no because the original Banksy acetates will be retired after the remaining 80 of each ‘Test Press’ Series deck have been hand pulled. Once again all the information is on the Clown website as below:

Banksy + Clown Skateboards, by mrizzle on Nov 15, 2020 18:59:49 GMT 1, So...I’m not really trying to provoke argument here but am simply a bit confused. I totally get that they are going to retire these acetates but one assumes this doesn’t extend to the actual Clown image that is also their logo? They’ve already shared a future series of decks with these with a variety of coloured fonts. As this is their logo, I assume that the capping doesn’t extend to this specific image? I’m quite keen to add one of the decks from the future series (with orange font) but am struggling to get a handle on what is and is not limited in this regard is all.
Oh...and they’re announcing the first guest artist on 27th November. Shock-1 perhaps...? Thoughts?

If this is the case saves many people spending over the odds on a secondary market clown deck just wait until a variation is released

Banksy + Clown Skateboards, by treblenobass on Nov 15, 2020 19:50:06 GMT 1, Slight variations of the red / black deck were made over the earlier years but never more than 100 of each. I'm fully aware of that, I have one of the pinky/red decks myself.
I'll repeat the actual question you've disingenuously avoided answering...
You and Clown have repeatedly said "Banksy authorised 100 of each deck graphic to be used", how does this explain the hundreds of decks in other colourways made and sold by Clown with the exact same graphic in the early 2000s? Only 100 of each that is correct.

Clown never placed an emphasis on the word graphic like you did. I do not think they even said "Banksy authorised 100 of each deck graphic", nor did they use the word "graphic" in any meaningful way ever.
The Banksy acetates are being retired. It is a very simple concept.

Banksy + Clown Skateboards, by irl1 on Nov 15, 2020 19:57:40 GMT 1, how does this explain the hundreds of decks in other colourways made and sold by Clown with the exact same graphic in the early 2000s? i've seen the pink one and one other variation on the clown design - where are the hundreds of others? I have seen them in auctions over the years.
