Banksy + Clown Skateboards, by treblenobass on Nov 14, 2020 21:27:51 GMT 1, Banksy clothing line? They only use the Clown logo, which was designed by Banksy for them. This really isn't rocket science. A few People outside of the forum Will view it like that . Association with banksy and it’s his product , happened with James cauty riot shields At dismaland that people were Paying 5k+ at one point Clown & Banksy was & still is more than just an association.
Take from it what you wish.... 👌🏻

Banksy + Clown Skateboards, by casual on Nov 14, 2020 22:10:50 GMT 1, There’s a lot of conspiracies and doom merchants on here isn’t there.
I was lucky enough to bag a test press series, £1,000 isn’t cheap but those iconic images & history with Banksy gives them so much provenance. It’s been clearly stated the image will be retired after this launch, I would understand the pessimism on here if they were then mass produced but they haven’t been and won’t be.
I also purchased a t shirt today having missed out on the initial drop. Again it’s clearly stated on Clowns website and other stockists these are a run of 200, presumably of each colour/design.
For those with the argument ‘why would they stop producing if they can make a quick buck’.... companies and brands all over the world do this. A limited numbered item will be more desirable than a mass produced one, it causes a sense of hysteria and is one of the simple marketing methods. Adidas or Nike release a trainer that they could sell 500,000 units of but limit them to 500 pairs to create a buzz around them. Clown have done the same and here we are 35 pages later on UAA, everything they touch sells out at the minute so it’s all working.
Hats off to them from me, great branding, quality items and I can’t wait to get my hands on the decks and merch.

That marketing only works if you are producing and releasing similar items to hold the demand for further releases but it’s stated no more images will be released ? By releasing at different outlets in limited numbers they could potentially continue to keep releasing , there is no numbering systems which even on limited clothing have been known to be marked Products were stated sold out on their official site , now more products elsewhere ?

What seems to be happening imo, is a great end to the test series that they are honoring. Their future products will be collabs with other artists (which sounds quite exciting to me) If they stick to what they have said so far, then customers will have confidence in future drops and in their professionalism. Hopefully lots more to come. Think they're doing a great job so far.

It was there in full display on the purchase page.
www.clownskateboards.com/shop/daily-pink
And they've also mentioned it on Instagram.
Do a little research.
In case it's not clear yet, you will see the Clown logo being used on many future releases - because IT'S THEIR LOGO.

*except in a different color and logo location
not knocking it... but that's all that is happening. they screen a "limited edition" batch of shirts... then move onto the next design and color combination. it's their logo so no biggie. i just wish their color/design combos were better for a £45 T.

Herbert , Tough guy t**t getting worked up over a discussion of T-shirt’s If people buy in to certain items they become over sensitive ? Any differing views or thoughts rejected 👍 As someone pointed out , why this particilar time to market? The marketing at the time stated one time only to purchase never to be released again , no mention at the time of releases that more to be later sold at other outlets ?any thing can change to suit

The relaunch / marketing inclusive of the clothing has happened at this particular time as it coincides with 20 years since Clown & Banksy launched the brand back in the year 2000 as I’ve mentioned previously.

Banksy + Clown Skateboards, by Skizz 82 on Nov 15, 2020 13:32:35 GMT 1, limited or not, or authorized or not by Banksy, the boards are very cool, especially the monkey detonator. considering an average price of £ 330 x deck, those who bought have some nice objects to display. I would never spend the crazy amounts read here on it but I would very gladly buy one (the brand, however, has a significant history as far as Banksy lovers are concerned)

Banksy + Clown Skateboards, by treblenobass on Nov 15, 2020 16:38:16 GMT 1, Banksy authorised 100 of each deck graphic to be used so decks will not be sold again after any last drop I can assure everyone of this. Apologies if this has been answered previously treblenobass , but if "Banksy authorised 100 of each deck graphic to be used", how does this explain the hundreds (if not thousands) of the deck shown below made and sold by Clown with the same image in the early 2000s? Slight variations of the red / black deck were made over the earlier years but never more than 100 of each.

Banksy + Clown Skateboards, by irl1 on Nov 15, 2020 17:15:32 GMT 1, whats with this new trend of selling things before they are even made or printed. So what are those photos then if they are not made Banksy allowed for 100 decks of each design to be printed by Clown Skateboards in 2000 but they only printed 20 decks of each of these 3 designs that were released today which were the remaining 80x decks Banksy allowed to go in to production. The photo is of the original set from 2000 which I’m assuming still exist in the owner of Clown Skateboards archive ....
Slight variations?
You say a 100 of each "design"

Banksy + Clown Skateboards, by irl1 on Nov 15, 2020 17:23:06 GMT 1, Bought mine in late 2000... They say this on their website - might be of interest to you "If you have one of the first 20, we only know of 2 blue and black logos and one each of the monkeys still in existence, please get in touch and we would be happy to authenticate them as being from the ‘BANKSY TEST PRESS' series. We have seen a couple that claimed to be but are most definitely not, so if you are buying from anywhere else be careful what you are offered!" If you have one of the first 20.
No mention of the other Slight variations in colour

They say this on their website - might be of interest to you "If you have one of the first 20, we only know of 2 blue and black logos and one each of the monkeys still in existence, please get in touch and we would be happy to authenticate them as being from the ‘BANKSY TEST PRESS' series. We have seen a couple that claimed to be but are most definitely not, so if you are buying from anywhere else be careful what you are offered!" If you have one of the first 20. No mention of the other Slight variations in colour

Banksy + Clown Skateboards, by irl1 on Nov 15, 2020 17:26:55 GMT 1, The Instagram account seems to be more about the Banksy merch than skateboarding.... and only started 8 weeks ago. Is that odd? Clown Skateboards was started in 2000 then faded out of the skateboarding scene & this marks the relaunch of the cash grab! I fixed that for you

Banksy + Clown Skateboards, by gimmeabreak on Nov 15, 2020 17:30:52 GMT 1, I do not think it is worth trying to persuade users in this thread, since I think they are more interested in lashing out about Clown than the truth. They're asking answered questions, and are operating based on unfounded suspicions.
The acetates are being locked away after Clown makes the rest of the test press series. People can disagree and shout that they'll use the acetates to print more. Their argument amounts to "but you never know, they could make a lot of money." It's pretty childish.

Not true, how many £10 tickets do you think they sold?
I'd say thousands, for a chance to win a set of decks that we are finding out were printed in another colour before.
This company are only back for a cash grab on the back of the huge surge in Banksy prices

Banksy + Clown Skateboards, by Extra Ball on Nov 15, 2020 17:49:30 GMT 1, a lot of speculation.
when the series is finished (100 of each), the acetate will no longer be used. like what was agreed with banksy 20 years ago. go to the clown page and read again.
it seems pretty clear

Banksy + Clown Skateboards, by irl1 on Nov 15, 2020 18:13:06 GMT 1, Slight variations of the red / black deck were made over the earlier years but never more than 100 of each.
But treblenobass , you (and Clown) repeatedly state "Banksy authorised 100 of each deck graphic to be used".
That's not at all true, is it, as the above graphic has already been used on more than 200 decks...
Strange how treblenobass will like some of the posts and won't answer you

Banksy + Clown Skateboards, by tab1 on Nov 15, 2020 18:18:23 GMT 1, Does this mean they can continue to make slight variations of the image forever as long as they don’t print more than 100 of each one every time? 100 x Blue. 100 x red. 100 x Blue/ Red and continue...
Primary , pastel , Matt and neon variations to be released later 😉
