Christie's Art Auctions , by barsukauk on Sept 28, 2018 22:21:04 GMT 1, barsukauk .....I'm afraid your price calculator is wrong.... From Chrisities.... The following prices in BRITISH POUNDS include the buyer's premium and are rounded to the nearest british pound. Lots which did not sell are not shown. 201 15,000 202 40,000 203 35,000 205 20,000 206 1,375 208 43,750 210 16,250 211 35,000 212 5,000 213 1,750 214 50,000
You need to add comisión on those price... This is hammer price, this is not ebay is and auction house, and they need to make some money.

hopefully this is the last post we need on this thread. Either people are making honest mistakes or there’s an agenda but hopefully the facts speak for themselves.

Christie's Art Auctions , by kuni on Mar 7, 2019 15:17:42 GMT 1, Thanks for the link, I'm not familiar with the majority of the artists, but there are some really beautiful pieces in this auction. The estimates are fairly reasonable as well, many of them within reach of mere mortals like myself.
I can't help but think how much more enjoyment I'd get from having some of these paintings on my wall, and seeing them everyday, than I would some of the prints I chase. As my collecting evolves, I really need to remind myself to take a step back and ask myself whether I'm purchasing a piece because I love the art, following the herd, or hoping to turn it for a profit. FOMO is real.
Anyway I digress, sorry for the stream of consciousness, and thanks for posting the link.

Oh there is noting better than having a painting you like on your wall.
Never follow the herd because you will end up paying well over the odds for something you might not even like.
The print business used to be for people who could not afford the original, not so anymore with a lot of artists. Yes stop chasing prints unless you really like the image.

Balloon Girl screenprint in colours, 2004, on wove paper, numbered 469/600 in pencil (there was also a signed edition of 150), published by Pictures on Walls, London, with their blindstamp, the sheet slightly reduced above and below, laid down to the backboard, framed
Yikes.

Christie's Art Auctions , by kuni on May 22, 2019 13:15:57 GMT 1, I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that this could break $10M. If the right two assholes get into a bidding war it could easily get there.

Christie's Art Auctions , by covertshadowops on May 22, 2019 13:39:37 GMT 1, it might be massive but not the best image? looks like Stitch (lilo & stitch)
i mean i am not complaining as its a big masterpiece, but i prefer having the last spongebob that sold for $6 million IMO.
but yes, records could be broken.
