Yeah , I was a a bit disappointed mate as a lot of the people who submitted stuff did so after me showing them test parts of the book with the street art in. They all saw street art as it was theres, they could relate to it. Im debating emailing him direct as I also said if the image cant be used is there any chance of a little sentence off him for the book, they also said no to that. Im wondering how much control he has over things these days.

That did cross my mind but also a photograph of his kids repossessed piece out in America was denied use. That was a street piece that someone had took a photo of. I asked permission for use of 2 images.

If so, disappointing indeed (if not, actually not surprising and totally understandable).

Oddly PC probably don't own the rights to photographs taken of Banksy's work by other people... and depending on usage can't do much about people using those photographs (EG, for an unofficial guide to Bristol Graffiti)

I've been doing photography,art,creative writing workshops with them and compiled it into a book. I'm unsure of the options in regards to what and how it's going to be printed etc. Work might print it and give it away, I may get sponsors to pay for it and give it away. Don't really want to sell it. It was more of a giving them a voice and doing productive and creative stuff with them.
