I don't think it is "such" an agreement. I don't think that would damaged your "reputation" so badly unless you are a big well known art dealer. And you can just no put your own details to order the piece so I don't find your argument relevant

Nothing. It has no teeth. People can sign anything, but doesn't mean it's legally all-good.

It's not meant to inspire legal action. Think of it more as a serious suggestion. If you value your reputation with the artist/dealer, you'll abide. But if you don't, they can't do anything.

That's because wording like that for releases like this is part of their marketing. It makes the buyer feel exclusive/important.

Which is a good return but it'll only be short term. Not passing it on to grandkids to put them through university.

Oh I don't have the money to buy large works, nor do I know enough rich people. I'm just an artist and street art fan, and buy the occasional print I like for my walls.

Fine Art collecting is a much different game.

Most major galleries have this clause, it’s likely unenforceable and they won’t come after you anyway but you’ll get blacklisted by them and maybe some other galleries. 

This, plus the big galleries all have relationships with auction houses. If they want it pulled they'll get it pulled. That said, Case Studio isn't Gagosian; they can't do sh*t, but I imagine with what nuts Ebay are they'd pull these if told to by Case.

Yeah I remember two years ago Ford sued John Cena after he tried reselling his Ford GT. They ended up settling out of court.

Worried they won’t sell the whole edition at that price, so need a bit of extra hype?
I assume they’ll still have their usual friends and VIPs presale on top of this raffle presale... then a main release!?

I think this is the largest and most expensive edition to date? Because the demand is there. They could have sold these all quietly, and more, just trying to keep the moaners happy post - release.
