I have just recieved my hiscox household/art insurance renewal and the increase is ridiculous .It has risen from ยฃ360 to ยฃ515 per year even though I haven't made a claim for over 20 odd years.
Can someone recommend another household/art insurance company please.

Have you rung them to discuss? Like car insurance, it is always worth discussing before moving. If you have been with them a while its worth a call? I had a big household claim with Hiscox 5+ years ago and they were great to deal with. |

Cant recall the exact numbers, but covered for all items up to circa 10K without specifying, and then anything over this, you just add/specify separately for the value required, and this 'premium' quite reasonable.
More importantly, I made a claim a couple of years ago, and they were very fair and efficient. All the best.

Paid for a proper appraisal from an art company on the insurers list they research and inform the insurance company of itโs current value. Then I pay a little extra every month on top of house contents to cover it.
Two years ago some teenage ice addict kids broke into my house, the muppets walked straight past the Banksy and my wifeโs purse ๐ got my keys and stole mys**t Ford Focus sport.. I was praying they would crash it and right off as the gear box was dodgy. They did, the little feckers crashed into a ditch ๐all got arrested. Biggest bonus was car was worth $13k and My amazing wife insured it for $16k, got paid out in full.
Donโt risk not insuring..

I have about ยฃ70k covered and it costs around ยฃ340pa but itโs much more comprehensive than household insurance. It also covers new acquisitions, shipping and covers when art is with 3rd parties so pretty good value.

Agreed, but expensive is relative They've never screwed me over since I've had them, so hopefully my vintage Stella bottle is in good hands! |
