Have they removed tiered pricing, hence the higher release price?

David Shrigley New Edition Launching Thursday 15th October, by Horatio Nelson on Oct 15, 2020 14:44:57 GMT 1, The pre-release price was £1,875 (so £1,500 after discount). I don’t believe links were sent out to the mailing list as usual; I think you had to proactively ask. The thing that saddens me is that I imagine most who bought at this level will be listing the print on eBay anywhere between a few hours and 18 months after buying. Although bona fide fans can get in early with Counter, it’s a shame that the process isn’t a bit more transparent and open.
I have a Rampage print already (framed on wall), so didn’t feel compelled to buy this one, even if it could have generated a 2k profit on paper within 24 hours.
Ironically, with many of these Shrigley images, they’re not quiiiiite strong or good enough to merit a space on the wall, which is why flippers buy them without hesitation, happy to keep them in the excellent quality Counter packaging for months/years on end.

David Shrigley New Edition Launching Thursday 15th October, by viz on Oct 15, 2020 14:52:47 GMT 1, Ludicrous price, the whole point of print editions is to produce good art at affordable prices for those who havn't got the money to buy a painting or drawing by the artist. Shame on Shrigley Although that is certainly a reason for producing prints, that is definitely not "the whole point of print editions"; printmaking just makes use of a different medium, with different results, limitations, possibilities and so on.
There are great prints, much better than most paintings ever produced in the whole art history, and crap, as for everything produced by humankind.
Unfortunately most people think printmaking is just the same as painting or drawing for people with little pockets.
There are many artists, also contemporary ones, who take in great value the art of printmaking.

David Shrigley New Edition Launching Thursday 15th October, by Horatio Nelson on Oct 15, 2020 15:00:13 GMT 1, At current price, this is more than the recent TIME “unique” hand painted edn of 125 that he released through Stephen Friedman, which I loved but couldn’t quite justify the money for another Shrigley.

If you want a Shrigley, you're better off going for a Jealous or Stephen Friedman release. These are just extortionate. Especially since you only need to wait two months for another pop at Tier 1...

David Shrigley New Edition Launching Thursday 15th October, by Horatio Nelson on Oct 15, 2020 16:09:22 GMT 1, Not as much as the £6k it’s now listed for.
I always struggle to understand how people can rationally purchase at the £4K and £5k tiers within 2 hours of release, when it could easily be bought for half of that or less if they were just more organised.
Makes me suspect that the tiering is either (i) not based on number of prints, but by time elapsed; or (ii) the tiers above release price up to £5k have about one or two purchasers per tier, with well over half the edition size saved for the top tier.
