'Odyssey' posters are an edition of 1000, un-numbered, no COA, and a quarter of the size.
'Bombs' is 4x the size of the 'Odyssey' posters, an edition of 500, numbered, and based on the photos have braces for display like old educational charts. I'm betting these are on a very heavy paper or possibly a thin vinyl.
Thanks irl1, as someone who bought two of the Artist's Hand (and almost went in for a third because I couldn't believe they were still available a day later) I think it's a mistake to sleep on this one.

Well, there's that ;-) For the longest time we had some vintage educational charts on the wall so I understand and gravitate towards what he's doing with the image.
Framing on this will be brutal because it's massive. I'm hoping (praying) it's on vinyl.

Hand was $675 (I think) and while we can disagree about what is current market value on it I think it's safe to say it's increased in value (depending on where purchased) between 5x and 10x. I'd also argue you really have to love the 'Odyssey' image to buy it on the secondary market too.
I disagree that this is a secondary market price based on massive size, limited edition, and that they are numbered, but the market will bear these out either way. I like the image, I'll hang it, but I think there is some upside here.
It's Ai Weiwei, he doesn't really put out art this affordable that often...once every few years. To put it in perspective I have a Kaws pillow that is worth slightly more which I will probably sell to pay for it.

Eh, IDK. The Artist's Hand was up almost a full 24 hours before it sold out. I was surprised by the number of people on the forum who dismissed it or were ambivalent about it until it sold out. It took over a year before they ended up picking up some real value but they did.

I got a banner back then and got this and my Artist hand signed by Ai Weiwei at a show opening last year. Still super happy that I got it. Not sure about those bombs though

I do not understand the hesitation on this. 'Odyssey' posters sell for around $400 on ebay, $600/$700 at auction. 'Odyssey' posters are an edition of 1000, un-numbered, no COA, and a quarter of the size. 'Bombs' is 4x the size of the 'Odyssey' posters, an edition of 500, numbered, and based on the photos have braces for display like old educational charts. I'm betting these are on a very heavy paper or possibly a thin vinyl. Thanks irl1, as someone who bought two of the Artist's Hand (and almost went in for a third because I couldn't believe they were still available a day later) I think it's a mistake to sleep on this one. I personally like this image more than 'Odyssey' but I didn't really care for the 'Odyssey' image.
