Is it from the 4 day show in 2008 in LA?
Don't understand why it's not getting more attention on here though. I would be very intrigued, if I did have the funds.

The fact that it's a NYC pick up limits it somewhat.. not to mention the exchange rate even if shipping was an option. It's a lovely pice for sure.

Out of curiosity, where do you think everyone is going (assuming people went somewhere else to have these conversations and access to non-auction secondary market), or do you think people are leaving urban art as an area of interest?

Futura ๐บ๐ธ Leonard Hilton McGurr โข New York Graffiti Artist, by Deleted on Jan 20, 2017 23:39:35 GMT 1, Couple of thoughts:
- People do more and more on their smartphones and tablets every month/year/decade. On such keyboards you type a lot less comfy than on a pc-keyboard so people tend to post less and less, because it takes way more effort and time to type a few sentences on your smartphone than on a pc.
- This forum is not handled that well, in regard that there has been a lot of mishandled controversy, for sale-topics aren't modded so you get a glorified ebay with 0 info, no pics, no asking prices, etc, art wanted-topics are all grouped together, etc. It's just not a very fun or knowledgeable place anymore. I used to F5 the f**kout of this forum a few years ago, now I just check once a day and scroll through the active threads, which are mostly boring.
- Street art has become a valuable flipping thing so less and less art is landing in the hands of collectors that like to talk about art, and more and more into bot using flippers that don't care if they buy a print or a pair of sneakers, as long as they get double what they paid within a month.
- Also most releases of new art nowadays have like 70% pre-sold so almost nobody that posts/talks about art is able to get something they like.
All that combined makes street art a bit played out in terms of talking about it on the internet, is my humble opinion.
The latest Dran release is a fine example of this. I have a dran on my walls and would have gladly considered getting the new one. Instead I didn't know they were for sale (gallery just offered them to known costumers or whatever wealthy prics they have on their vip list without there ever being a public sale), and 1 day later there's a post here from a user with very little posts offering the print for like 5x the sale price, while not even having the print in hand yet. And this topic doesn't get modded or deleted.

You mentioned street art. A few times. But no mention of art on the street. This is the problem. It's all about what can be bought. What can be sold. Are sales thread good enough. Ffs.

Ffs. So i take it you don't agree with what I said? Imo there's not much 'art on the street' that's worth talking about, and I don't think this forum was ever that much about art on the street?
Most art on the street is done by talentless vandalists btw that just like to tag their nonsense over everything. Idk what to say about that. The things I do like on the streets are mostly legally painted large walls.

How can you appreciate street art without some level of appreciation or understanding for 'vandalism' ?
