New Banksy in Totterdown, Bristol, by hellfo on Dec 10, 2020 18:32:32 GMT 1, Vastly overthinking it.
As is so often the case with Banksy, it's simply a placement gag (as was last years December piece).
The end.
I absolutely agree.

I agree. This makes sense. The Banksy Instagram photo with the man with umbrella gives it a lot more context than the earlier photos. It is brilliant the way the angle of the street is used.
I am guilty of over thinking it and see it differently now after seeing the photos.

New Banksy in Totterdown, Bristol, by Lord Lucas Roham on Dec 10, 2020 21:26:31 GMT 1, Imagine this was your neighbours house. You wake up and all of a sudden you live next door to a tourist attraction. One that won't make you a penny but will likely cause you untold distractions, noise and distress. I pity the other people who live in that street.

New Banksy in Totterdown, Bristol, by GMA on Dec 11, 2020 14:45:54 GMT 1, Just went down there, that bastard hill. The piece looks great, it hasn't been sprayed over for now, I'm sure that'll come in time. Hopefully not though. Just imagine that, you were about to exchange and then BAM, this happens hah. There was a security van installing an alarm system of some kind, it was being tested while I was there.

i wonder if the artist had any clue this house was a signature away from being sold...

I doubt it, the sign outside says "SOLD" It didn't say "Subject to Contract"... just "Sold" Usually, you'd expect that means just that.

this whole thing has gone kinda meta if thats true. presumably these people now have all sorts of expenses if theyre hiring a security crew

It should be possible to be removed, but it is on render and we've seen that some cowboys have turned previous Banksys to dust. It's probably worth a couple of hundred ยฃk's to someone, so can't blame the owners for withdrawing from the sale. Anyone seen the Brandler t**t hanging about there yet??
