New Banksy in Totterdown, Bristol, by GMA on Dec 11, 2020 15:09:24 GMT 1, Just went down there, that bastard hill. The piece looks great, it hasn't been sprayed over for now, I'm sure that'll come in time. Hopefully not though. Just imagine that, you were about to exchange and then BAM, this happens hah. There was a security van installing an alarm system of some kind, it was being tested while I was there. the article says homes are in the 300k range here, would you guess thats accurate?
this whole thing has gone kinda meta if thats true. presumably these people now have all sorts of expenses if theyre hiring a security crew
It varies, you could pick up a house like that in Hartcliffe for probably half that. Southville, the same sort of house would probably be more like ยฃ400k, Clifton, another level. Property prices in Brizzle have risen by quite a significant amount compared with other areas in the UK.
I don't think they've hired a security crew, just got some alarms in place. I don't think that piece is going to be removed, in all honesty, I think it would bring the whole house down if they tried. I am just pleased I got to see it quickly because with the weekend coming, you get all kinds of shitheads out and about who will try to destroy it.

It had a guide price of ยฃ340k on rightmove, so it would have sold close to that, as houses are selling fast at the moment.

New Banksy in Totterdown, Bristol, by J Kwon on Dec 11, 2020 16:33:19 GMT 1, The angle of the street is brilliantly used and it looks like the old lady is blowing the houses down.
Donโt know if it has anything to do with masks, but itโs whimsical and absolutely brilliant. For a second there when I saw him post it yesterday on Instagram I thought it was San Fran because of the angle of the houses on the hill. I love how he uses the surrounding area as his medium.

Is every fucking piece of art where the person isn't wearing a mosque to be interpreted as "look at this idiot! clearly the artist is showing how STUPID this person is for not wearing mask."
I see why you all choose to worship B. Very dense bunch, I might add.

I'm not here to start arguments, but the obsession about masks is concerning. You're are allowed to think for yourselves you know? The government doesn't have to do everything for you. Masks are proven to reduce the spread of airborne pathogens. This is about scientific evidence, not "thinking for yourself", especially without any competence or medical background.
There are a bunch of geniuses around that for some reason think that public health experts who study epidemics around the world for a living are out there to violate their civil liberties. There are obvious externalities from certain behaviors, even in normal times, and part of the job of the government is to make sure people internalize the social costs that their private actions produce. These costs happen to be different during a public health crisis.

I also don't get what you mean about the double entendre so did you purposely type mosque instead of mask? It won't end in a lawsuit. You are perfectly entitled to pull out of a house sale in the UK at any time, until the final hour before keys change hands.
I guess they think they've lucked in to a fortune. Not sure what you can actually do with the place though...

Not quite right - it's after exchange of contracts that the buyer and seller are bound in, not when the keys change hands ('Completion') which can be days or weeks after exchange of contracts.
But yeah, they hadn't exchanged contracts, so both buyer and seller were free to pull out, no lawsuits.

This all over.
All the snipers slagging off the seller when in reality the process has been paused to write the artwork into a Trust and stipulation that it can't be sold and, actually, should be handed to the museum if removed.
