Amoako Boafo print, by gross on Apr 1, 2021 19:51:28 GMT 1, For this money you can pick up a canvas by Godwin Champs Namuyimba, those will sell for 100k + In few months Don't make it sound like it's as easy as buying from Amazon. There's no stock around, and a lot of collectors/flippers want to buy too.
One coming in auction next week...

Amoako Boafo print, by Fuzzyduck121 on Apr 2, 2021 17:50:50 GMT 1, Hope everyone who wanted one secured one I purchased the yellow myself as I love the piece and I have no intention of selling it. Boafo is in my view a top level artist and will be exhibited and collected as such. As I originally said the price is at a level that I suspect only those who wish to buy and keep will secure one so it’s of no interest to profiteers or short term speculators That works for me far better than chasing things to sell them instantly for double the price and move on Leave that to the supreme and sneaker collectors and the teenagers chasing small wins This to me is what building an art collection is all about .

Amoako Boafo print, by Passion Art on Apr 3, 2021 0:40:52 GMT 1, For that much it should at least be a silkscreen. That’s ridiculous. They are milking these artists as much as they can right now. Pretty crazy to see.
I think these are stone lithographs so considerably nicer IMO opinion then a screen print. Still overpriced, but yah.

Amoako Boafo print, by LJCal on Feb 26, 2022 14:20:25 GMT 1, Because the price is ridiculous! I am a Lana Del Ray fan and have signed items straight from her site for £10, Vinyl £40. It's an edition of 100 signed by the artist not the musician, show me a signed edition of 100 by Boafo cheaper and I'll buy all 100.

But that is my point- if the musician can release at a lower price point- why do Interscope have to hit beyond the 2000 mark? True fans will purchase the Vinyl- why push them (you) out of the ability to buy?
If there was flip potential, there would be a lot of 'true fans' buying these.

I’m confused I give zero fucks about the record I wouldn’t even want it if they gave it away. The fact is interscope did a deal with the artist for the cover which is limited to 100 copies and signed by the artist and looks as good (albeit an offset) as prints that go for tens of thousands. I highly doubt anyone will ever play any of these records

The Kaws one sold out immediately which is what all the sneaker flippers would be buying, Baofo is a different type of market which most flippers can’t get their head round. It’s not the sort of the thing you can quickly move on this board or eBay.

they're priced for the idiotic art collector audience in their 40s who have too much money to waste. But the product itself isn't appealing to them, because it's not sold by Avante Arte and printed on textured Hahnemule Photo Rag paper with conservation art inks.
It's apples and oranges where the orange salesman is trying to sell apples to an orange "connoisseur"

Amoako Boafo print, by The Dude Abides on May 15, 2022 1:13:14 GMT 1, At least we can all agree that Interscope should have thought more about marketing these for art collectors, whether it was price, edition size, print medium, or just doing fewer albums.
I’m sure more would’ve sold out quickly had they given bigger albums to the bigger artists (esp Boafo) and not given 12 albums to Hirst to basically photoshop lol, but instead they mostly let the artists choose their album pairing which is also cool and adds some meaning to the collaborations.
As a non-flipper, it’s obv hard to argue on price for the artists like Boafo even for a giclee, cuz you’re not going to get a signed print of theirs for less anytime soon. Even the youngest artists like Anna Park (got hers) and Anna Weyant’s vinyls might seem overpriced now, but could easily seem cheap in the future given their trajectories. Much like the $5k Boafo litho from the OP does now.
