Collection Tracking, by Humble Art Collector on Jan 22, 2021 17:27:27 GMT 1, I am trying to figure out how people keep tack of their collection. What information do you track? Where do you store the information? Do you have a website? Is it safe to have it publicly known?
I currently use Excel and track the following. Let me know what else you would track.
- Type: Edition, Canvas (unique), Sculpture, Drawing - Artist - Title - Year - Material - Size - Price Paid - Value - If edition, number - If original did the artist make editions of it (and what) - Framed? - Hung? - Country - Instagram - # Instagram followers

I’ve always felt that something like this would detract from the enjoyment of collecting (unless done only for investment). It’s enough for me that most of my art is hung and so I see it every day. It’s enjoyable to look at art that isn’t hung too. I’m always pleasantly surprised to find things I had forgotten about.

Collection Tracking, by dex on Jan 22, 2021 19:38:44 GMT 1, I've always wondered how urban art friendly their database is. Or will I be adding a lot of stuff manually? Anybody with experience?

Collection Tracking, by John The Badgers on Jan 22, 2021 19:53:50 GMT 1, If its any help humbleartcollector, I started a thread a while ago on a similar theme -
urbanartassociation.com/thread/162387/documenting-artwork
I wanted to do this as it would help for any potential insurance claims.

I recently signed up to Artscapy.com for storing my collection. You can upload your spreadsheet directly which is pretty cool
