Damien Hirst H9 โข The Virtues, by Argiebaji on Apr 12, 2021 10:32:20 GMT 1, To be fair it doesn't really matter what we say on here, the art buying public will set the price for these over the coming months and years. The hype or non-hype wont make any difference.
However, IMO these are V Wall friendly, and despite there being 1,000's around, people like nice looking things on their walls.

Damien Hirst H9 โข The Virtues, by jimmyjam on Apr 12, 2021 11:38:27 GMT 1, There's some real BS going on here. Someone saying Artnet prices will go through the roof. Someone else saying they will go for 12K in a few weeks time. It's all BS! I can only assume people have ulterior motives for hyping prices up. There's thousands of these things floating around. Literally thousands. They're not rare, by any means. People must be a fool if they pay more than about 4 or 5K for one. It's not even a good Hirst release. He has done far better ones in the past.
You have no clue about the art market. There are a few people who have multiple accounts just saying the same things.
The editions number size for this type of artist level isnโt very large at all,
People pay $14,000 for unsigned Jeff koon balloons and diamond all day. Those are editions in 1,000 +
Also Aiweiwei has ton of different hand sculptures that go for a lot as well. .
Clearly there is also alternative motives here by people were against the release since day one as well.
Gerhard Richard caged prints when first released had the same amount of negative comments on UAA - even after the release - until many started to sell 20-30k. Then everyone started going nuts trying down play the releases to buy cheap off members here who had no knowledge of their true values. Iโm sure those early seller are kicking themselves now. Iโve seen people bash releases here over and over only to buy the item they missed out from a misinformed member here for cheap.

Damien Hirst H9 โข The Virtues, by Sixty Bells on Apr 12, 2021 13:22:03 GMT 1, So I'm looking at framing one of these. I contacted Heni about the UV protection of the laminate and they confirmed that there is UV protection but they couldn't confirm how much. I'm therefore thinking 70% anti-reflective glass and hopefully the two protections will add up. A few people here have mentioned that the ant-reflective glass will also cut down the reflectiveness of the actual artwork. However, my framer seems to think that the anti-reflective coating is on the glass only and will have no effect on the print. Has anyone framed one of these with anti-reflective glass as it would be good to get a first hand report. Cheers.

Light comes from outside the frame Also what would be the reason to choose 70% UV when 99% is an option?

If you know so much about the art market, why not talk about other signed editions from Damien Hirst including the edition size and selling price? You're throwing other names out there to over hype release as if this was the first release ever from Damien Hirst. Go look at the prices for signed prints from the spot series as a starting point, and then move onto the signed spiral prints after that. See a trend? If you had just a basic idea of what you were talking about you'd know that they can't be compared to spot-series prints. Demand for them is very strong and the prices are steadily increasing.

Again, your complete and utter lack of reasoning, analysis and critical-thinking skills are as evident here as they are in your political tirades. You cannot compare the most iconic and in-demand work of any artist with anything else within their ouevre; it doesn't make sense. You don't compare a signed Toxic Mary to a signed GWB AP for the same reason.

You cannot compare the most iconic and in-demand work of any artist with anything else within their ouevre; it doesn't make sense. You don't compare a signed Toxic Mary to a signed Girl With Balloon AP for the same reason. Since I'm obviously a leftist idiot with no logic and no understanding of the art market, can you explain to me like I'm a child why signed spot prints are selling for less at auctions than what your art expertise is claiming these cherry blossoms are supposedly worth? You yourself said spot prints are iconic, so is this a market downturn, an oversaturation, a size discrepancy, a lesser known auction house, people prefer giclee to woodcut, people prefer larger editions, people prefer a signed sticker on the back of the art instead of a print being signed on the front, or what other excuse will you come up with? www.sothebys.com/en/buy/auction/2021/prints-multiples-4/maltohexaose Again, you're showing your lack of ability to think critically. Who in their right mind takes a single instance and generalizes it? You made no attempt to create a meta analysis by including items over multiple, top-tier auction houses that sold recently and were of a similar size. (We can leave limitation out in this instance given the large edition sizes of the open editions) No mention of the condition of the item.
Taking a brief look at a single item in isolation and coming to a conclusion instead of taking an in-depth and extensive look at all of the relative factors says so much about today's political climate and your ability as a thinker.

I didnโt say flip. I said sell higher. Anyone spending more that 1k or art isnโt hoping for it to go down...

Flipping and selling higher, kind of the same thing, yeah?๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ. If I buy a piece for 1k on the secondary, hang it for a year and sell it for 2k two years later, itโs arguably still a flip. Of course anyone who buys art isnโt hoping itโs going to go down, whether itโs 1k or $1.
My point is, most flippers buy from source when possible, because itโs cheaper; more so than those buying secondary, who are buying because they love the art work and plan to hang it; hoping it goes up in price is obvious. Of course some buying on the secondary market are doing so to flip as well.
Whatever, who gives a shit. These were obviously good buys. Wish Iโd bought a complete set.

Last Hirst from Heni I purchased I never received a request for import payment. Just wanna make sure its legit before I pay.
Yes, exactly the same charge here to Portland, and if you look at the documents, itโs a processing fee for advance payment of duty for you by Dhl, the total of which is $0.0000. There isnโt any actual duty charged on import. I plan to question it as it seemingly an arbitrary handling charge.

That's maybe a negative impact of the eBay offers...but at the end they accepted completely forgery-proof screenshot of the charge.
