Shredded Girl with Balloon - One Big Fraud, by Sebastian Dusseldorf on May 28, 2021 18:57:18 GMT 1, Not a very meaningful comment, is it? you clearly don't own a banksy, otherwise you'd be worried about it all just like I am. If that accusation is wrong, why is there no statement of the involved parties or any legal actions against jps or the media company? They are usually happy to sue little tiny baby card companies, but now they keep quiet? Fact is, there's an article and serious claims of ongoing fraud and we don't get any answers or responses. If that all breaks the main media, our investment is ruined and not even worth a penny.
1. Or he owns one or more as an investment, but other than you he is really rich, so he doesn't give a shit. 2. Or he owns one or more and bought it more than 5 years ago, so he doesn't give a shit. 3. Or he owns one, hasn't a penny in his pocket anymore, loves the look of his livingroom any given day, so he doesn't give a shit 4. Or he owns one, but is just into different conspiracy stuff than you?

It's been stated numerous times that no fraud or wrongdoing ever took place. If you are so "concerned" about your "investment" sell it because I'm sure someone out there will give it a better home.

It's been stated numerous times that no fraud or wrongdoing ever took place. If you are so "concerned" about your "investment" sell it because I'm sure someone out there will give it a better home. I claim that 90 % of all Banksy buyers nowadays buy them as an investment. You get better quality art pieces for way less money. You can't tell me that someone pays hundreds of thousands of pound to get a Banksy just because they like the art - Banksy is a brand and it's his name that's selling. And that brand is getting a bad reputation, prices are dropping and yes, for me as a Banksy owner that's worrying. Most Banksy owners I know don't even hang the pieces on the wall as they are quite bland to be honest - or because they are worried they fade out (which would reduce the value - and there we are back at the "investment" conversation)
"It's been stated numerous times that no fraud ever took place" - stated by whom? Not by Pest Control, not by sothebys, not by Jo Brooks, not by the media, not by the police. Seriously, I think we are all in the same boat and we have to ask questions, otherwise our children will only inherit worthless canvases. Such a claim shouldnt be left open, there should be a statement made by either Banksys manager or Pest Control.

I don't know why the prices dropped, all I know is, they will drop massively if the main media picks up on that and questions havent been answered.
I don't understand why these accusations havent been denied.

Literally thousands of people know, every arts journalist knows, Sotheby's knows, every serious collector of his work knows, every street art blog knows, every art magazine knows. Everyone on this board knows. Thousands understand it as part of the work. If you don't, fine. But stop flapping. You haven't cracked the Da Vinci code. Really, no one cares. Slow down and have a think, isn't it unlikely that your own worries or insights are somehow greater than the collective knowledge and experience of everyone listed above ? come on.

I was asking about Banksy's bad reputation. I've not heard or read anything that negative.

Bad reputation is trying him to create. There are people asked by JPS to comment about this subject

It's not dated as 2006.It is now a new piece of art called 'Love is in the bin' dated 2018.

I don't understand why these accusations havent been denied. While I definitely understand why you might be concerned about your investments, and I agree with you that most people buying for these figures are investing (despite the whole thing filling me with a mixture of sadness and horror), you are wrong about this date thing being a scandal waiting to happen. With respect I think you may just not understand why it is a non-issue, and your financial paranoia is clouding your judgement. I hope I be wrong about it, but I don't think so. If Sothebys knew that the piece was painted in 2018 (which they had to know about, otherwise it wouldn't have made it past the experts) , then they made themselve guilty of a crime giving it to auction as something it isn't.
If someone sells a car to you claiming it was built in 2019 and gives you misdated paperwork but in reality it's 5 years older, they will be done for it, won't they?

Shredded Girl with Balloon - One Big Fraud, by Winchester on May 28, 2021 21:17:03 GMT 1, Looks like you're trying to convince people that that was a forgery and forget about your "investment" We are all sitting in the same boat. I see it as forgery and I know if the main media picks that up our investment is ruined. So I thought it is important that Pest Control gives a statement to this accusations, otherwise they are floating around and may influence the market in the long run.

People have engaged with you, explained numerous times and have been generous. Time to go have a sit down and think.

I don't understand how an artist could possibly "forge" their own pieces. If you are genuinely concerned about the ramifications of this then sell. You mentioned that your print is sitting in lonely dark tube somewhere because it's only an "investment" and his artwork is "bland" clearly you don’t appreciate what you have.

Winchester , when you go to to a magic show you realise the lady wasn't actually cut in half right ?
It's part of the act. People paid precisely to see the act (not some lady really get sawed in half).
Are you surprised no one is outraged she wasn't really cut in half ?
Do you worry the venue will go out of business when "the media" realises she wasn't cut in half ?
Do you want a statement from the magician's agent ?
Seriously wtf the fuck are you guys on ?

I'm in this forum for a few years now and to be fair, you seem like a hypocrite, a lot of your comments are just about slaying people and talking them down, like your recent one.
If you're a banksy owner, you shouldnt play this off, I havent heard a single good argument of you why it is ok what Pest Control and Sothebys done , it was deceiving and it will bite us all in the a**.

All you can do is getting personal it seems, still haven't seen any explanation by you why this "stunt" is meant to be ok either. As a collector I feel duped when I seen this post and I'm still convinced with allegations like this in the room there should be a statement of Pest control or sothebys.
I studied other works and read a bit into it all and to be fair I don't think its just this one piece. If you read my other comments, I think the recent flower thrower was suspicious and I don't even want to start with this radar rat again . People are waiting for their PAID COAs for years, I don't think that's a right thing to do. Or is it? Street Pieces appear on auction houses with COA, even though Pest Control always stated they won't authenticate them etc.
I think the only thing that could safe the market is an official statement. Not only regarding the shredder stunt, also regarding the massive wait for COAs.

All I see is people attacking JPS, that's not what this thread is about. Take this guy out of the picture, look at the facts and answer the allegations. That was what my first post here was about, but it seems like some members here prefer to close their eyes, hope for the best and focus on something else. I looked at it focusing on the things that's being said and I think it was very suspicious and wrong and could be a problem .

Shredded Girl with Balloon - One Big Fraud, by Winchester on May 29, 2021 4:13:50 GMT 1, So you think that EVERYONE who bid on that piece did know it wasnt executed in 2006? I doubt it - and sothebys shouldnt be compared to a cheap magician show, it's an high end auction house not a place for stunts, people don't bid on artwork to be duped. They offered to not process the winning bid but the person moved forward since it was a unique new piece
I'm aware of this, I'm not necessarily talking about the winner of the auction, more so of the other bidders.
