Art Car Boot Fair, by rsj on Jun 19, 2011 21:39:56 GMT 1, The Gavin Turk napkin went up to ยฃ150 by the time I visited that store at around 1pm. Not sure when they raised the price from ยฃ100. Similar to the eggs, they don't seem sure what will happen to the wine stain on the napkins long term...
Hirst is quite nice, but I loved the Chapman Brothers and Marcus Harvey prints.
Personally was a bit disappointed by the Peter Blake. A print that says the name of the art fair just does nothing to me, but I appreciate that some people like his letters and more so his signature. Would have been more interesting if he chose a word that means something...

Can just imagine someone waking up tomorrow from a long day today and realising they spent ยฃ25 on an egg... Then having to explain what they got up to at the weekend in s**tty office chit chat.
Surprised turk did not cash on even more and produce a tshirt to say...

Good to meet so many nice people in the queue who made the long wait more enjoyable. We got there in the end, although it was doubtful at times.

Art Car Boot Fair, by 10th Mountain on Jun 20, 2011 9:48:27 GMT 1, The Blake is actually a great image, I love the lettering style and I am a great fan. It is a shame that the copy is a bit of a let down(IMO). It was nice to buy it from Rosie Blake though. I did think that 200 plus 50 AP'S at a tenner more is an edition of 250. A complete contrast to the Hirst edition of 75 that was in reality an edition of 43 after they had shaved off a few here and there. A great event with stuff for everyone. I don't sit comfortably with the mass mayhem and chaos organisation, or lack of it. But maybe that's just me.

From what I can remember I believe she mainly had three old prints "Owl", "Bee" and "DJ Derek" at her stall, plus she was selling and signing her 'The Boy in the Oak' book at ยฃ12.50. Pictures of these are on her website.
