Art Car Boot Fair, by aj2010 on Jun 27, 2011 19:36:02 GMT 1, In my honest opinion these prints are rubbish and won't be given the time of day on many people's walls. The so called 'collectors' who may have missed out would probably only put them in folders for a later day when they will sell them. The queuing and selling straight on of prints has been going on a long time, and there continues to be pages and pages of people moaning about it. If you really want a print so badly then you have to put in the time in the queue, although I realise there are some genuine grievences with queue jumpers. While there is a secondary market for prints that some people think they need in their collection, a lot of time they probably don't. All I can say from experience is be more choosy in what you buy. Only buy things you really believe will make it on your wall. If you do it to make money then fair enough. The market is out there.

Hi Hanky
I watched Charlie drawing these for you children, the blue in the hair of your daughters one was from a pencil I had as I was after a cover by Pure Evil as well, and he borrowed that to add colour to hers.
He did me one of his little mosters with a tooth ache, an absolutely top bloke.
Glad to hear they had a good day,

Art Car Boot Fair, by Wearology on Jun 29, 2011 0:16:09 GMT 1, I came up with the bright idea to hang up some "Pure Evil Bunnies" in my 6 year old daughter's room - she obviously was inspired by Charlie's work and decided to draw a picture of our family pet turtle ala PE style complete with blooding shooting from its eyes & tail with the words EVIL scrawled all over it.

Art Car Boot Fair, by hanky on Jun 29, 2011 10:33:29 GMT 1, Chablis hi - remember meeting you at Charlie's stall. Wearology PE's area was between Tracey Emin and a spanking stall!! My little boy had to write on the Monday after, what he did at the weekend as he spent most of it shouting "Pure Evil" after charlie had put a felt pen tattoo on him with those word on it (and "pure good" on my daughter which she thought highly appropriate) I am expecting a visit from social services any time now!! smellmyfinger well worth taking the children there is loads to do through the day and it calms down after the initial furore for the prints and you can get a good look at all the other stuff around which is easily accessible eg Tracey Emin book signing, smashing crockery with boules, smashing windscreens with hammers, Bob and Roberta Smith do it yourself stencil and then signed by the man, do it yourself penguin books at a pound, billy childish selling books on a butchers bicycle and many other prints and art projects you just need to seek them out

Very sad that so many have hit eBay. Out of the 43 issued to the general public well over half have made it on to there since its release.

Pretty much the case with most releases, If it was not for flippers i doubt there would be half as much hype or buyers , most of this scene seems to consist of flippers, out to make a fast buck

Art Car Boot Fair, by HRE on Aug 17, 2011 17:09:31 GMT 1, Thats not just with this scene, its with all art scenes. Auction houses, ebay, individuals buying then selling, shilling it, goes with the art scene. Sometimes it good for an artist to look like he has sold out (for example Damien Hirst buying half his stuff at auction too look like its making good money) Laz buying in Banksy's at auction to the same degree.
Sometimes it hurts the artist in the long run. In the end, just buy what you like if you can before the flippers get there grubby mitts on it.

Glad to see these have gone for such a low amount. Lots of people missed out on the day (many of whom queued for 10+ hours) thanks to very poor planning by the car boot organisers.

How much would one of his prints cost at the fair? Cheaper than his website prices?
