Art Car Boot Fair, by wisky on Sept 2, 2017 23:33:15 GMT 1, The weather was OK for the most part, managed to get the Charming Baker print and sketch, a Joe Webb Flat Earth collage for my son, a Peter Blake print, a Schoony Bruiser stensil print for my daughter and a Jason Gibilaro print for myself......

All in all, it was great day to be fair!

The weather was actually great, a few moments of rain when it first opened, but nothing horrendous, sunny and windy the most part (I'm available for weather forecasts in your area). The Folkestone folks passing by seems somewhat confused about the whole thing and couldn't quite understand the concept of an art car boot fair. I heard one woman, as I was leaving, refused to pay the £5 entrance fee and walked away.
For my part it was a success, grabbed some lovely Baker pieces and also a Joe Webb 'flat Earth', which I love, very colourful lttle piece for only £40.

Art Car Boot Fair, by rockbeer on Sept 3, 2017 10:26:53 GMT 1, Had a great day at the fair - plenty of absorbing conversations, and any number of things I could have happily bought if I hadn't splashed all the cash on two small Colin Self original sketches.
There was a wonderful, informal, friendly atmosphere all around the place - lost count of the number of people saying how much nicer and more chilled it was than Vauxhall.
My first art car boot fair, and hopefully not my last. I'm impressed - couldn't help being a little sceptical beforehand, but it really is a car boot sale.
Had a great day at the fair - plenty of absorbing conversations, and any number of things I could have happily bought if I hadn't splashed all the cash on two small Colin Self original sketches.
There was a wonderful, informal, friendly atmosphere all around the place - lost count of the number of people saying how much nicer and more chilled it was than Vauxhall.
My first art car boot fair, and hopefully not my last. I'm impressed - couldn't help being a little sceptical beforehand, but it really is a car boot sale.

A Matt Small thats sooo good, wish I had of bought more, and some other albums sprayed up at a tenner each
And This Gavin Turk plinth that was already framed up
The queue for Jealous gallery was too long for me, and people sneaking round the back, so i passed on it as it was making me irritable
Bought and Eine SOHO print too, but that needs framing

Didn't see anyone buy it. The jealous stand was a bit of a ruck, particularly with loads of people trying to jump the queue. Very crowded and no one really wanted to browse or they'd risk someone bumping in. Plus took ages for everyone to choose their baker sketch (20 unique sketches to go through).
I wasn't keen. I should have picked up a Webb but didn't get a chance to look properly
