Art Car Boot Fair, by Rsyok on Sept 3, 2017 22:42:42 GMT 1, Fabulous new piece there bren. I'm suffering art envy right now. I've said it on here several times, I think Matt is one of the most talented artists discussed here (and not often enough). Agreed he's a bit of a quiet genius with unique style. A lot of his vinyl cuts paintings were usually charity fund raisers.

Art Car Boot Fair, by Poly Mindset on Sept 4, 2017 0:27:26 GMT 1, I didn't purchase it. Having Jewish friends, and one who's relatives were in Auschwitz and suffered terribly, I think its in bad taste, thats just my opinion and I understand others will have a differing point of view. However, I do understand the message of the piece. I am somewhat disappointed the artist didn't find a more subtle way to make the point. Totally agree! I personally hate it. Thanks for elaborating. Don't mean to be a dick, but it would be nice if you would specify why you hate it? Please enter into the conversation, otherwise your opinion holds little weight. See, the problem with haters is generally they are unintelligible and can't express why or where their hatred stems from. So, if you could please prove me wrong and explain your position , it would be appreciated. Oh, and please don't cop out and say, "I don't have to explain myself to you". For if you do, It's just an omission if your ignorance.

Art Car Boot Fair, by gd79 on Sept 4, 2017 8:41:53 GMT 1, i only have so much wall space, and I don't need swatiskas filling any part of it. Perhaps if it was a biting piece of major political weight... But it's a kids game of hearts and swastikas; looks like an I Heart NY t-shirt gone horribly wrong. I think if you're going to use such an inflammatory symbol, then you carry the burden of making it count.

In my opinion, creatively it would look less swastika heavy if there was an extra heart. I think that was a subtle mistake.
Got us talking though!

A thousand bucks on top of the cash price. Not bad for a half day's work... They wouldn't have even needed to queue much, I arrived an hour before open and was about tenth to the jealous stand. Anyone after a peter Blake got gives away into a different queue.

Toy art, 2mn of thinking and 5 mn of work !! " the message of this one is very clear..." - as clear as any Nazisploitation, "Love in death camp", "Last love from the Third Reich", or "Three love at Gestapo" Well, see now that's better. At least you have a point of view that you are willing to articulate. It doesn't matter if someone loves or hates a particular piece of art but if you are going to state your preference at least say why. Thank you. Please substitute "unintelligible" for "intelligible" in my original post, which to me is a pretty funny typo. Oh, and I'm not offended by you calling me a dick, my tone was meant to generate a response. By the way, I've been called much worse.

Think I'll reserve judgement...There are some decent artists represented. You trying to narrow down the competition?

Full disclosure - I have nothing by her. Not quite my thing, but v much appreciate it and am tempted

I was told that there will be two separate queues. They will let all the advance-ticket people in first. But I also found out that they are selling 1,000 advance tickets so that makes me wonder if it is really worth pre-booking at all. Incidentally, wasn't it a fiver last year? I see they are now charging a tenner plus an extra quid booking fee.

Queued all night last year for a Harland miller and it turned into a right farce. This year it would depend on anything decent being released. People used to queue for peter Blake, but they had been so bad the last 2 years, that people don’t bother as much now.
