Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by Fะฏ on Jul 19, 2021 12:44:14 GMT 1, Sorry, still having problems with all this Metamask wankery. On the Heni page it says "Please accept the connection request". Where can I find the connection request and how do I accept it? Means it cannot connect to metamask app - it also has to be installed on the device you are using. Try desktop / chrome metamask plugin

Have you tried opening Heni.com through metamask's browser?

My guess is that if you want the physical item, it wont be for a long time. Possibly a year or more as they will want to make money via the exchange of NFT on their site

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by rockbeer on Jul 19, 2021 13:05:56 GMT 1, something that is rare is what we believe is worthy of assigning more value to it. real estate is a great example of this. Land, they are not making anymore of it. here in California water is becoming rare and there for more valuable.
Rarity by itself doesnโt confer value - for example, I would gladly offer you one of my own original artworks, but since no one has heard of me and my art has achieved no recognition beyond my own house (and scarcely even there), I doubt you would consider it at all valuable despite its rarity.
In classical economics, value is determined by a combination of rarity (or scarcity) and desirability - supply and demand.
Your land example is an interesting one. Land itself is neither rare nor scarce - itโs everywhere you look. It nevertheless tends to have a high value in the places where lots of people want it and where little of it is available to buy despite there being a lot of it.
Itโs that relationship that counts - not how much of a thing there is, or how many Hirst paintings or NFTs exist, but how many exist relative to how many people want them. 10,000 is a huge number of items to release onto the market simultaneously, whether as NFTs or original paintings on paper. As a comparison, there are thought to be a total of around 50,000 works by Picasso in existence, and nothing like a chunk of 10,000 that are all virtually identical to each other.
It will be very interesting to see what kind of value these Hirsts command by this time next year. My suspicion is that given the sheer quantity that are being made available, people who imagine each of the 10,000 will command the value of a unique original will end up being disappointed.

and if they didn't the cost to acquire a paltry maximum of 10k users is awful marketing....
I've noticed over the past year that people love to peddle fake news on this forum

Everytime one is bought or sold they will get a cut. It says 27th July but thats just to decide. Does not mean you will get it then - but maybe thats how i am reading it having used NFT exchanges.
It would not surprise me if there was some sort of ETH gas fee to destroy / convert the NFT as well

I appreciate your point of view on these items i like ( real estate and art) For whats its worth, If you offered me a original @ a said price, and I liked it. I would either buy it or not pending its something i could afford. I dont think I would be looking @ it is if had or would hold value. yes, land is all around us, But there is only so much land that alot of people want, such As california beach side land. I guess this w is where it changes from rare to Supply and demand? if demand outweighs supply then the items ( land or art) becomes more rare? Picasso would be 100X more popular if the internet was around during his time.
you may not be wrong with your next year prediction. But I for one genuinely like the pieces as well as the project as a whole.I am hoping to support it.
What are your predictions on how many will be kept recorded on the Blockchain ( nfts) and how many will be kept as Physical Pcs?

Itโs a fee charged by the blockchain miners for processing a transaction.
The gas fee is nothing to do with heni itself

How much are they going to charge me for that? more then likely yes. you need to pay "gas" to send transactions. when there is alot of demand/ activaty on the system, gas fees go up. you can also pay more gas to help insure your transaction goes through quicker. this might be important to note for those waiting till the last day to make a descions on to keep or not keep the NFT

In huge simplification we can look at blockchain Ethereum as a decentralized computer. If you want to perform some operation on that computer there's fee for using it's processing power. It was created to prevent a situation when some piece of code runs in a infinite loop. With gas fee this loop will eventually be stopped.

Yes but to move or burn an nft you will need your wallet loaded with btc or eth to pay the gas This means having to verify your id with an exhange and buy crypto to put into your metawallet to pay the gas fee.
You better get that 100 digit or whatever code right ๐ unless metawallet lets you buy directly but will require id checks. Not sure if they offer that

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by Ace on Jul 19, 2021 21:32:34 GMT 1, I am a bit confused in relation to timing. By reading the Heni e-mail they indicates:
"The application period started on 14 July 2021 at 3pm BST and lasts for one week. Successful applicants will be notified in the week after the application period closes. Each NFT is $2,000 and payment can be made using credit or debit cards as well as the following cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), USD Coin (USDC) and Dai (DAI).
The NFTs will be distributed from 29 July 2021. No one will receive a physical artwork at the outset. Two months after the NFTs are allocated, collectors will be presented with a choice: to keep the NFT or exchange it for the physical artwork. They will have one year, until 3pm BST on 27 July 2022 to decide to keep either the digital NFT or the physical artwork. If they have not exchanged their NFT in that period, the physical artwork will be destroyed. Similarly, if they have exchanged it in that period, the NFT will be destroyed. There will be an exhibition of the 'burned' artworks (i.e. those relating to NFTs that have not been redeemed) before they are ultimately destroyed."
Therefore, would be possible to get the physical artwork only after 1 year, or this will happen in the moment I opt out of the NFT?
I am a bit confused in relation to timing.

As I understood if you get selected, after you sent payment (credit card, debit card , BTC, ETH etc), you will receive a token (NFT) in your metamask wallet. Then, after 2 month, you can decide to claim the physical art work anytime until July 2022.
example : if after 3 month I decide that I want to own the physical work HENI will ship it to the owner (you'll have until July 2022 to do that)
after July 2022 you won't be able to claim physical work anymore so all the work not claimed will be destroyed.
After July 2022 all NFT changed into physical work will be burnt (destroyed).
