Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by Terry Fuckwitt on Jul 24, 2021 18:41:45 GMT 1, I'm still not sure I understand this ratings thing. I have scored around 9,000 on density and texture (Woo-Hoo!) but only 3,000 on weight (D'oh!). I thought the added texture would mean it weighs more. How long was it after purchase until it ended up in the wallet? I can only see the image and the title when I look via login in on the website at the moment.
They are sent on 29th

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by Terry Fuckwitt on Jul 24, 2021 18:45:03 GMT 1, I said the same thing earlier, it doesn't make sense. Also, I checked with the magnifier a low ranked drips compared to a high ranked drips and there was hardly any difference. In fact, it looked like the lower ranked had more drips than the low. I think they used a commodore 64 for these rankings🤣 They specify in the videos that the paper is hand made and has different weights/density. Also the amount of paint adds it up. you can see that there are some paintings that ar emore "seethrough" than others. That's because the paper is lighter.
Ahh, that makes sense

Weight differences will probably be down to how the paper was torn. Some don't have straight edges, so will weigh more.
The ones with really low ranking for white space don't look very different to the ones with the highest ranking.
The differences are so tiny that all the stats only matter if you want them to. If the site didn't give you a ranking for weight, would anyone ever give the weight of their work a single thought?

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by vvk on Jul 24, 2021 19:01:24 GMT 1, Somewhat depressingly I just realised that I have spent more time today staring closely at the heni.com image of my painting (number undisclosed for now) than I have spent staring at any of the dozen plus artworks I have at home up on the wall / mantelpiece in recent times. It’s fascinating to see the paint drips and paper at a multiple zoom level, as well as these so-called particularities, but it would be a shame if all art viewing shifted onto a digital display and/or had value determined by a random set of parameters. I hope that isn’t the future of art/collecting.
Don’t feel bad. Sometimes I stare at my tubes and large envelopes. And try to remember what might be inside.

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by neal on Jul 24, 2021 19:12:23 GMT 1, Got mine yesterday "Ice Cream and Kiss You" , and the wife just had an email. Does anyone know if she can use my metamask account or needs to set up her own? I’ve just asked a similar question - I am trying to help my father-in-law out and had hoped I could use my wallet but have been told on Discord that the recommendation is to use separate wallets.
In the MetaMask app you can set up an additional wallet within your account with one click. I did that earlier today to connect for the wife’s application. I would do that just in case they decide you’re a massive flipper and cancel your order, cos we all know heni are all about the collectors and not the flippers don’t we… 🤣

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by atomone on Jul 24, 2021 19:34:40 GMT 1, Now i‘m confused. When i purchased mine today and clicked the „reveal“ button this was the one it said i received. 9549 protect from the cold. I even made a screenshot. Now when i log in it has changed amd it‘s a different one. Has that happened to anyone? And how is it possible for you to see which one you got when you didn’t buy it yet? 'Protect from the cold' is just the one on the homepage of the site...
Thanks for clearing that up, i’ve been traveling all day and not purchased yet so assumed that was the one…makes it more exciting now that I don’t know which one I’ll have…just gotta remember it’s within 48hrs!

Ha ha...your father got one! You are talking shit. Give him the money and he can pay for it. Not like he is going to rip you off is it?! Maybe just ask what you really mean which is if I buy from someone how can I ensure I get the goods.

I got one from a friend...so you can totally buy from your dad. You just need to apply with his email address and get the 6 digits code. From there you attach your metamask wallet and pay with your cc.

Some big scores on the colour, density and weight ‘rarities’ but can’t say I truly think that they mean anything. Apt title considering it’s a pretty accurate description of my life atm 😅 Genuine respect to anyone who willingly burns a physical DH banking on the longevity and potential upside of NFTs - roll those dice champions 🤙

Simple hack: add your edition number to the end of this URL (in place of the x’s)
currency.nft.heni.com/item/xxxx

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by Smokeidaeye on Jul 24, 2021 20:41:53 GMT 1, Framing options of mine... It's great to pick different mat colors based on the % of your colours in the painting. Also it's all personal. I remember fighting with my eyes and heart when I see the different framing options of Shag prints... it really bring up different tones and colors!! Love the mat color idea. I'm going to see if there is a way to make the back visible so the name and signature are still visible but that may mean I can't float mount it with a mat in the background.

I think the stats things was a complete afterthought. Sure the names are unique, but suggesting paper size and density and drips etc I’m cracking up as they are all so similar it’s unbelievable and the size is the same as per all his posts with the boxes full of them. Whatever is the case a great marketing story and I mean that as it has engaged people’s imagination (the good) and greed (the bad) hoping theirs is something better than anothers. Very happy to have scored and will most def be putting it in the wall of fame! Peace out

Another option is to print out a photo of the back and have it attached to the back of the frame. It allows for more framing options.

It wasn't even slightly aggressive but why are you so antagonist? I simply stated what all the people who, so far haven't received a congratulations email and wanted to know is...how do I leach....I'm coining that term for all the folks with multiple entries, so they can get this release. Same people chasing welcome mats. Always makes me laugh seeing the desperation when a few pounds are involved. I really don't mind if you want to be rude, just shows what people are all about. How can I get it? What will it be worth? Can I tell all my friends I own a Hirst og? Fantastic experiment and super interesting to read the emotional comments linked to perception of worth. The currency...how easily people can be manipulated....just like money.

One would assume it works on a dot basis (i.e. how many dots of yellow/yellowish paint have been dropped onto the canvas), but it is really based on individual pixels that make up the photo of the artwork. So in theory, one could have a very high yellow score if the image/artwork contains a significant amount of orange and green paint yet not a single drop of yellow paint. I also doubt the white balance on the camera equipment is perfect or consistent across every image, meaning that even the white of the paper could appear different shades of white/cream across different images (and therefore have different amounts of yellow pixels even for those blank areas where the is no paint applied). For that reason, I personally attach little value to these colour particularities, especially if you plan on keeping the original artwork and burning the NFT.

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by Deleted on Jul 24, 2021 21:07:42 GMT 1, Working the stats out cracks me up, mine says 7 yellow so ultra low and I can tell you right now there is a lot more yellow than that in my pic. I think the stats things was a complete afterthought. Sure the names are unique, but suggesting paper size and density and drips etc I’m cracking up as they are all so similar it’s unbelievable and the size is the same as per all his posts with the boxes full of them. Find it very funny that the stats are much more relevant if you're keeping the NFT, because perceived rarity is more important in that market, but many of the stats become meaningless when applied to a digital artwork. For example, an NFT cannot have weight or texture.
The more I think about this project the more I like it. The conversations it's started already are so interesting and sometimes completely mad.
