Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by dreadware on Jul 25, 2021 7:51:24 GMT 1, Had someone offer me a spare win, if I purchase it through a wallet... does it become mine or the person's who got the email? Its a very kind offer that I very appreciate, juts trying to work out the logistics.
The wallet is not connected to any email address or name. You will need the other persons 6digits code when you purchase it and maybe also when you want to receive the original paper.

I don’t think you’ll need the original email address (if/) when you swap it for the original. You can trade it in any time up to 12 months after the drop; there’s an expectation that the NFTs will be traded in that time. The original purchase email should be irrelevant - the whole point of NFTs is that they’re proof of ownership.

Total guess here, but I presume you’ll be able to log into Heni with an email address (not needing to be the original purchaser email) then you’ll use the wallet address to trade in the NFT for the original using your private key as proof of ownership - this is why you keep each NFT in a different wallet.

It's all on-chain. You will go the the HENI website in 12 months, connect the wallet that contains the NFT - therefore providing proof that you own it - and then simply perform a transaction to transfer the NFT back to HENI (to be destroyed). They will take name/shipping address etc and the ex-NFT owner gets the print - no direct link to the original owner needed, email or otherwise.

The blockchain is the record of who owns what. The private key is your proof of ownership and is the only thing (!) needed to move something out of your wallet. Heni won’t have a list of who owns what - it’s all on the blockchain and the only thing it’s linked to is a public and private key.
The public key is used to move something into a wallet (anyone can have that), the private key to move something out (give this to no one unless you’re moving your NFT out)

I sent a message to another asking which one he was selling, he said he is here just to make the payment process easier for people;
These are opportunities for [decent] people to own one (as they will go back into the bucket) so don't support this industry.
At least 2 listing violations - digital payment methods -also preSALE is a violation?!

100% this. If anyone has yet to receive a winning email, then report these on ebay to give yourself a better chance tomorrow.

The mods on the Discord said the pieces are in the UK, which is great news for UK buyers. Was worried that because the price is in dollars that they'd be coming from the US.
Probably better if they were coming from US. 5% import duty, instead of 20% VAT when you swap your NFT!

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by Gunny on Jul 25, 2021 10:04:21 GMT 1, It's looking like most people will be getting these. I think a lot of these will be owned by people on this forum VIA friends and family. I personally know multiple people who applied through multiple email address's (family, friends etc) and nearly all of them have been allocated. The price makes it just about achievable for many people to stick on a CC card and take a punt on seeing what happens next! After the success of the Cherry Blossoms, people are thinking these will make good profits quickly - i think these will be more of a longer term hold, however if you go for the paper version it is a nice little thing to frame and stick on the wall!
If we are talking investment....Think about it.......... in 10 years time and you need to sell something.......... you look at your wall and you have a David Shrigley 'Penquin' that your bought to put in your Child's room when they were young and a Damien Hirst little original (perhaps in the toilet)......... You need to sell something to give your kid a start in University........which do you think would be worth most?

Just say the email account was empty, email didn't work etc. They will side with the buyer 100% as seller can't prove sale. Paypal will want tracking number. This loophole was abused by people buying crypto on eBay for years. It's not like he's losing out as he's selling something he got for free. I've already got 2 so will leave this for one of you guys......

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by Deleted on Jul 25, 2021 10:52:19 GMT 1, The mods on the Discord said the pieces are in the UK, which is great news for UK buyers. Was worried that because the price is in dollars that they'd be coming from the US. Probably better if they were coming from US. 5% import duty, instead of 20% VAT when you swap your NFT! Oh is there VAT to be paid if you take the physical piece? I did not know that. Ah well, still worth it.

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by dunkers on Jul 25, 2021 10:58:30 GMT 1, Probably better if they were coming from US. 5% import duty, instead of 20% VAT when you swap your NFT! Oh is there VAT to be paid if you take the physical piece? I did not know that. Ah well, still worth it.
Possibly yes. But you might be able to argue that you are swapping rather than buying so maybe it can be avoided. Who knows!

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by avec art on Jul 25, 2021 11:22:59 GMT 1, I was surprised and fortunate to be chosen. I can understand why people might want to find another route to be able to get one if they weren't selected. Probably a good time to do so as I expect they'll only increase in price.
You can see from comments that people have made multiple purchases from different accounts, f&f etc, but did anyone who opted to purchase more than one (from a single address) actually get their request fulfilled or has Heni distributed them as evenly as possible?

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by French Art Lover on Jul 25, 2021 11:26:05 GMT 1, I think it will be 60% NFTs and 40% paper. NFTs are cheaper to sell + almost tax avoidable. Also there's more money flowing in the NFT marketplace and 10s of thousand $ are seen as a "cheap" NFT nowadays. Physical artwork will be harder to sell probably (also too many galleries, auctions fees and taxes) and generally it will be hung on walls. Interesting to see is if the price on the NFTs will match the physical artwork or the opposite. Very interesting experiment for the future
I was thinking about it as well. It is very interesting. At some point the nft could easily have more value than the the physical work. But I think after that one year there won't be so many ntf left and there will loose attractiveness and value.

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by Pawel on Jul 25, 2021 11:31:00 GMT 1, Is don't want to that person, but seeing how many people scored today I'd assume that all go the reminding 7k works have been allocated. The Monday round will be only for works that hadn't been paid for. ...which, I suspect, will be a lot. It could easily be over a thousand. Some people applied 5 or 10 times to boost their chances of getting one, but only ever intend to pay for one. Just my gut instinct, of course. I haven’t been allocated one so i wouldn’t mind if that was the case. I assume If people if people don’t claim the ones allocated tomorrow, they will kept by heni

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by Pawel on Jul 25, 2021 11:37:39 GMT 1, How long was it after purchase until it ended up in the wallet? I can only see the image and the title when I look via login in on the website at the moment. Me too. I don't think anyone has them in their metamask wallet yet. There’s a timeline on heni website and it states: FROM JULY 29 RECEIVE NFT When the allocation process is completed we will start sending out the NFTs. You will receive the NFT in your linked MetaMask wallet. Learn More

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by crassusstorm on Jul 25, 2021 12:23:26 GMT 1, So bitterly disappointed not to have received the 'congratulations' email, and finding it difficult to remain hopeful for Monday morning's allocation. I keep checking my status, but no change. If anyone has a spare, please let me know by DM.
