He’s making somewhere around $20m from these at least. Bear in mind, some of that cash goes to Heni. In fact, it's not unusual for galleries to take 40% of all sales. So that would mean Hirst would get around 12 mil and Heni would get a staggering 8 million. And they don't even have any printing costs to pay for!

I can’t fathom that the paper version could ever be worth less than the retail. The cherry blossom prints are selling for 3 times retail. A small Hirst original will always be worth more than £1.4K.

Does anyone know of anyone being allocated more than one? I didn't expect to get picked - do you think it helped that I've purchased two different pieces from them previously or is it not relevant?

I sort of agree but then the idea of Currency would disappear. In that video with Fry, Hirst says that they all look the same but are all different. Like with actual currency they will have different serial numbers or whatever. They all look the same but they are different. If some are clearly different at first glance or when spread out amongst the others I think that concept falls down. |

They all look the same so they’re all of essentially equal value. One is no better than another and you could be happy having something 9,999 other people have. People who want to think they have something better than anyone else’s will look for arbitrary differences that make it ‘special’.
Obvious differences would break the project because some would be obviously special. It’s about perceived value, artistically and financially.

Hirst is making the discussion on physical / digital art collecting palpable and interesting

Stephen goes on to make the point, 'so like a stamp it could be worth more', and Damien tentatively agrees with the proposition. |
