This is how I’m feeling and it’s a weird dilemma. I much prefer having physical and original artwork framed and up on the wall over proprietary rights to some jpeg and would gladly keep the original even if the NFT ended being worth double. But the financial/economic side of my brain is telling me that at least for the next 0-3 years there is some stupid money sloshing around in crypto and NFTs meaning that you will probably see more idiotic (i.e. much higher) prices paid for the tokens than the originals - possibly 3 to 30 times where you would expect to see the physical artwork priced. If you had the choice of an original from your favorite artist would you pick the image that you loved the most or the one worth more.
Not right. My walls are filled with art and I think crypto generally has no inherent value. I don’t buy work to resell or profit from. But I do have the critical faculties to think about these things. Not at all saying I would burn the physical artwork, but one has to have these thoughts. In fact, the whole releases is aimed in a large part at people who think exactly like this, i.e. NFT power uses getting preferential treatment supposedly.

Hopefully, they do find a really good way to make tokens/nfts more environmentally friendly to mine and display them better - which definitely can happen in the future.
I'm sure heni and hirst have more nft plans in the future with the success of this already.

Essentially the consumers of this NFT project will have a Hirst original that’s as large as the digital file will go before pixelating, which could be huge, compared to the small physical one. Fuck me, that really is something to think about.
I've not been feeling the NFT thing previously but this release does present an interesting experiment that feels kinda Banksy-esque. Wonder if Banksy will have a K Foundation style physical v digital NFT concept up his sleeve? Feels like a space he could release something cool. He's already printed fake money after all.
