NFT Art , by pjc on Apr 9, 2021 17:21:00 GMT 1, i'm still a little confused, can someone explain... and maybe the answer is since it's so new, the NFT market is still far from 'normal' when it comes to prices...
why aren't the costs of an artist's non NFT originals or recent limited editions not tracking anywhere near the prices that the NFT's are getting?
at some point, doesn't one version either have to raise in price or the other drop in price?
i own a few pieces of an artist that has been selling NFT's for $1mm+ and I paid in the single digit thousands for his non NFT pieces... and the only difference is that he basically automated in the most basic way what i own. and my pieces have not gone up in value as far as i can confirm.
for the people that are just taking existing pieces and tweaking them a bit for the NFT market, why aren't prices tracking closer to the Non-NFT pieces?

Real art uses real money. NFTs use internet money that some people are unable to convert to real money for legal reasons. so wouldn't that be an argument for NFT pieces to cost less if their is more of a barrier to cashing out?

Would this include leftover change from buying items of Silk Road? Lol

You can do the same thing on eBay and auction houses, too. You just need to factor in the transaction costs and fees to calculate the actual profit.
You’d pay $100ks in platform fees and gas so this doesn’t quite work with these figures, but to the extent it does it’s similar to Damien Hirst forming a syndicate to buy his own diamonds skull piece.

Be interesting to see where this goes. I personally felt a major correction was due very soon. Most of cryptocurrency and NFTs are made/hyped for these ipos coming up rather than true coin value. Again this just a personal opinion.
There isn’t too much hype left for crypto unless a Apple like major company accepts it.

They were down around 70%, digital art NFT's are the biggest scam known to man.
I hope you lot haven't done your conkers on them.
